Regions Bank Named Military Friendly Employer

Regions recognized for its efforts to recruit, retain and advance veterans, service members and military spouses.

By Alicia Anger | November 12, 2021

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Nov. 11, 2021 – Regions Bank is proud to announce it has been once again designated a Military Friendly® Employer by Military Friendly, an organization that measures the commitment of companies to create professional opportunities that leverage military experience.

“We are striving to ensure Regions is an employer of choice for members of the U.S. Military and their families, both during their service and after they transition to full-time civilian life,” said Clara Green, head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Regions Bank. “This recognition from Military Friendly is a great honor and is further proof of Regions’ commitment.”

Regions placed in all four categories of the Military Friendly ratings:

• Military Friendly Employer, Silver Award (up from last year’s Bronze Award)
• Military Friendly Brands, Top 10
• Military Friendly Supplier
• Military Friendly Spouse Employer

Regions is fully committed to supporting veterans and their families. Regions’ military transition program called BRAVE – Building Regions Associate Veteran Experience – supports veterans and military spouses seeking career opportunities at the bank. Regions is also a member of the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), a Department of Defense career program connecting military spouses with hundreds of member employers who commit to recruit, hire, promote and retain military spouses. Further, Regions works with the national program Hiring Our Heroes, which helps connect transitioning service members and their families with career opportunities.

“Companies earning the Military Friendly Employers designation create and elevate the standard for military programs across the globe; they have invested in substantive programs to recruit, retain and advance the veterans and servicemembers within their organizations,” said Kayla Lopez, director of Military Partnerships for Military Friendly. “To them, hiring veterans and servicemembers is more than just the right thing to do, it makes good business sense.”

Institutions earning the Military Friendly Employer designation are evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,000 companies participated in the 2022 Military Friendly survey.

Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score with an assessment of the organization’s ability to meet thresholds for Applicant, New Hire Retention, Employee Turnover, and Promotion & Advancement of veterans and military employees.
