In the Limelight: Kay Goke

By Kenzie Sprague | March 4, 2026

Regions associate honored as the 2026 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year for Barksdale Air Force Base.

WHO

Kay Goke, Regions Digital Experience Researcher within Technology, Operations, Digital and Data, is a 18-year military spouse, a certified volunteer firefighter and a nationally registered EMT.

WHAT

Kay was recently named the 2026 Armed Forces Insurance Barksdale Air Force Base Military Spouse of the Year, selected from hundreds of nominations and thousands of votes nationwide. The award recognizes military spouses who demonstrate leadership, advocacy and community impact.

The AFI Military Spouse of the Year program elevates military spouse leadership and highlights those shaping the future of military family life in areas including mental health, education, career readiness, policy and community support.

WHY

Kay is deeply committed to uplifting military families and the communities surrounding Barksdale Air Force Base. She is an active member of both the Shreveport-Bossier Military Affairs Council and the Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation.

This recognition builds on a year of exceptional service. Kay also earned the 2025 Lee Ann Petty Heart of Service Award, Regions’ highest honor for community service, celebrating the associate whose volunteer work best reflects the company’s mission and values.

In 2025 alone, Kay dedicated over 600 hours of volunteer service across the communities she serves – both on and off base.

IN HER OWN WORDS

“Some answer the call to wear a uniform, but a volunteer answers the call for the people behind it. Whether I am helping out a citizen in the community on a call on what could be their worst day alongside my fire family or standing for families of those serving in the military, my goal is to be there for people. It is my greatest honor to serve the community both on and off base proving that no sacrifice is ever made in isolation.”

It is my greatest honor to serve the community both on and off base proving that no sacrifice is ever made in isolation.
