Regions and the Predators: Celebrating our Military

Regions and the Nashville Predators celebrate our nation’s military.

By Mel Campbell | April 16, 2025

When it comes to the people who have served or are currently active in the military, Regions appreciates and values their service.

Customers who are current or former military have access to wide variety of resources available through the bank. Associates who work for Regions also have access these and other employment benefits.

In Nashville, Regions recently joined forces with the Nashville Predators to offer some special opportunities for the military as part of the Predators Military Appreciation Week. During the week, active military, veterans, and their families were invited to skate on the actual Predators’ ice at Bridgestone Arena. It’s an opportunity afforded to only a few people (who aren’t professional hockey players) and one that more than 100 people had an opportunity to do.

One of those participants was Corporate Security Investigator Richard Glasgow (pictured above holding a Predators banner), who represented Regions at the event. At the Monday family skate, Richard spoke to attendees about his experiences at Regions and his time in the military.

“It was a privilege to speak with active-duty service members, retirees, other veterans, and their families that attended the appreciation event,” Richard said. “I spoke with several participants about employment opportunities, how our culture shares many of the core values the military is known for, and my 20-year career at Regions Bank in Corporate Security.”

The next night, Regions, the Predators and Richard also were on hand for a special Predators game. Also, as a part of miliary appreciation, season ticket holders and others donate tickets so that military and veterans can attend the game. Fortunately, the Predators routed the Sharks that night, providing the hometown crowd with both a win and an experience that those who were able to attend won’t soon forget.

“The military is well known for recruiting young men and women from all walks of life and immersing them into an environment where they are exposed to different cultural, economic, and social backgrounds, along with giving them responsibility while driving home that they are part of something larger than themselves, with a focus on a common goal.

“This changes a person and helps them better understand others and how to work with people that have differing opinions, backgrounds, and viewpoints. It’s been invaluable to me in my career, and I’m proud to be part of an organization that understands the value that we bring to the company.”

I’m thankful to Regions Bank for their willingness to hire a veteran and Region’s partnership with the Nashville Predators, as these two organizations are doing great things to support our military and veterans.
