Regions Bank Celebrates 30 Years as Official Bank of the Southeastern Conference with New Football Season Campaign

Season-long SEC football campaign features interactive fan experiences, coach and student-athlete storytelling, original video content and on-campus activations across the conference.

By Jennifer Elmore | September 3, 2026

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sept. 3, 2026 – Just in time for the college football season, Regions Bank on Thursday announced a new Southeastern Conference football campaign featuring on-campus game-day activations, fresh podcasts with student-athletes and coaches, a new commercial showing Regions’ pride in the SEC, and digital storytelling celebrating nearly 30 years of Regions serving as the Official Bank of the Southeastern Conference.

What’s new from Regions Bank this SEC football season?

  • Regions will host special game-day activations at select SEC games this fall. Fans can experience the debut of the Regions Transfer Portal, a creative, SEC football-inspired activation that helps people experience how easy it is to switch to Regions.

  • Fans can also visit the Regions Big Green Bike, enjoy giveaways and create AI-powered photos that digitally “transfer” them to their favorite SEC team.
      • The first activation is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, in Oxford, Mississippi, during the LSU-Ole Miss matchup.
      • Additional activations will coincide with select SEC Nation broadcasts at key matchups across the conference.

  • As part of the Regions Transfer Portal launch, Regions is introducing a new three-episode “Regions Extra” video podcast series featuring top SEC student-athletes sharing their SEC transfer portal experiences. The series will debut later this fall on Regions Bank’s YouTube channel and select clips of each episode will be featured on the bank’s Instagram and Facebook channels.

  • “Regions Extra: Welcome to the SEC,” a video podcast featuring exclusive interviews with four newly hired SEC head football coaches is available now. Hosted by SEC Network personalities Peter Burns and Chris Doering, this free video podcast is available through Regions Bank’s YouTube channel and shares untold stories of four new SEC coaches who are in the spotlight this fall.

  • Across Regions Bank’s social media channels, 13 top student-athletes in football and basketball will share their stories of what it means to put in the extra work on and off the field. Throughout the fall, these student-athlete influencers will showcase their stories through authentic social media content that highlights their journeys, celebrates their impact and gives fans a closer look at the people behind the game.

  • A new television commercial is now on the air highlighting the traditions and experiences that make SEC football great. The commercial brings Regions Bank’s tagline, “Extra is our Ordinary,” to life in a fresh, new way and highlights the benefits of a banking relationship with Regions. It is available to watch at this link.

  • Regions is also the presenting sponsor of SEC Startup, the annual competition showcasing student-athlete entrepreneurs from across the conference. The event aired during SEC Media Days, where University of Alabama swimmer Sydney Blackhurst won top honors for her Beyond Barriers Swim Foundation, which provides adaptive swim lessons for children with disabilities.

Why it Matters:

Regions Bank has served SEC communities for decades, making the conference sponsorship a natural extension of the bank’s relationship-based approach. Through game-day experiences, student-athlete partnerships and financial wellness initiatives, Regions is creating new opportunities to engage customers, deepen community connections and introduce prospective customers to the bank’s products and services.

What sets SEC football apart is the way it binds campuses, families and entire communities together every Saturday.
Charlie Hussey, deputy commissioner of the Southeastern Conference

“Regions Bank has stood with us through three decades of that story, not just as a sponsor, but as a neighbor invested in the same towns and the same people. As another season begins, we value sponsors who understand that this conference is about more than the scoreboard, and Regions Bank has consistently shown that understanding.”

Leadership Perspective:

Paula Drake, chief marketing and communications officer for Regions Bank, said Regions’ work with the SEC is driving more customer connections than ever before.

SEC football is built on tradition, passion and community, and those same values are at the heart of how Regions serves customers and communities.
Paula Drake, chief marketing and communications officer for Regions Bank

“For nearly 30 years, Regions Bank’s relationship with the SEC has provided meaningful opportunities to showcase why a banking relationship with Regions is special. No matter how you connect with Regions and the SEC this fall, Regions is proud to be part of what makes SEC football special across our communities.”
