At Regions Bank, serving and upholding members of the military is a year-round focus reflected in how we do business and support our communities.
For Regions, 2022 marks another year of support for Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Tampa, Florida, that provides college scholarships and educational counseling to the children of special operations service members killed in the line of duty, and to the children of Medal of Honor recipients.
Each year, SOWF brings high school students from across the U.S. to Tampa for Operation EPIC (Educational Planning Informational Conference). In addition to financial education workshops, students receive help with personal essays and other preparatory materials for applying to college.
“The support we receive from Regions is very important. We need funding to be able to provide our educational programs,” said Edie Rosenthal, SOWF director of scholarships and family outreach. “A lot of these students may be first person in their families to go to college. For many, our college admissions conference is an eye-opening program. The students come here and don’t have any idea what to expect. By the time the week is done, they are ready to face a brighter educational future, thanks to our wonderful supporters at Regions.”
Project EPIC is just one example of Regions’ commitment to supporting service members and their families. There are many more. In Tennessee, the bank’s annual sponsorship of Military Appreciation Day at the Nashville Zoo draws more than 2,200 active military personnel, military veterans and their immediate family members enjoyed free admission for a lighthearted day of zoo fun.
