For incoming freshmen at Auburn University, the official countdown is on to the start of fall classes. The excitement is building, and we all know why.
- Saturdays at Jordan-Hare

- And, don’t forget the delicious Toomer’s Drugs lemonade!
But, before students arrive for the start of the fall semester, they are on campus this summer to prepare for college life on the Plains.

What is Camp War Eagle?
Camp War Eagle is the official two-day summer orientation program for incoming freshmen that introduces them to campus resources, campus traditions, and helps them register for fall classes with academic advisors.
Our goal is to help students build their financial confidence while they focus on academics. Eric Smith, Regions Bank branch manager in Auburn
Teams from Regions Bank are on hand at Camp War Eagle to provide students and their families with access to financial resources and share information on how to manage money during the college years and beyond. For people who choose to open a Regions LifeGreen® checking account on-site or current customers who want to level up their support for the orange and blue, they can leave campus with a new Regions Auburn debit card.
“Our goal is to help students build their financial confidence while they focus on academics,” said Eric Smith, Regions Bank branch manager in Auburn. “Regions has a strong legacy of being on campus serving students, and this is another way we can show up so students know who to turn to when they have money questions.”

Why Does Financial Confidence Matter to College Freshmen?
Starting college is often a student’s first experience managing money independently. Healthy habits formed now will shape their long-term financial future.
Regions Bank supports this transition by helping students:
- Build a realistic monthly budget
- Understand checking, savings and credit
- Avoid common financial mistakes
- Start building credit responsibly
“Student financial literacy is an important part of our commitment to helping students build financial confidence at Auburn,” Smith said. “Our associates are on campus year-round helping students, student athletes, faculty and staff build a strong money habits.”

Regions Bank Mobile Branch: Financial Help on Campus
During Camp War Eagle sessions, Regions Bank is bringing its Mobile Branch directly to campus for greater accessibility, convenience and personalized service.
At the Mobile Branch, students and families can:
- Meet one-on-one with a local banker to go over money management habits for students once they arrive on campus
- Open a LifeGreen® Checking and Savings account
- Get answers to parents’ real-life money questions
Availability: The mobile branch will be on campus 11 times through mid-July, and it is typically open in the afternoons.

Building Strong Financial Habits Early
For Regions’ Head of Retail John Jordan, this work is more than professional—it’s deeply personal. Today, he’s helping guide his own children through the fundamentals of money management on the same Auburn campus where he once learned, grew and competed as a student athlete.
Equipping young people with the tools to make informed financial decisions is one of the most valuable investments we can make in their future. John Jordan, Head of Retail
“Auburn played a formative role in shaping who I am, both personally and professionally,” Jordan said. “That’s why it means so much to see Regions investing in the success of today’s students and the next generation of Auburn alumni and future leaders.”
He underscores that this responsibility extends well beyond Auburn.
“Financial education is important to my family, and it matters to every family sending a student off to college,” Jordan added. “Equipping young people with the tools to make informed financial decisions is one of the most valuable investments we can make in their future. Regions bankers work every day in Auburn and beyond to provide local support for students on their financial journey.”
