Banking leaders focused on helping people, businesses and community organizations succeed.

By Nestor Mato | January 11, 2024

MOBILE, Ala. – Jan. 11, 2024 – Regions Bank on Thursday announced the appointment of two key leaders who will guide the company’s services for consumers and businesses throughout Mobile and along the Gulf Coast:

  • Experienced banking professional Bruner Binion will serve as Regions’ new market executive for Mobile and surrounding communities.
  • Additionally, Tina Gilmore has been elevated to serve as Consumer Banking Executive for the bank’s Greater Gulf Coast region.

John Turner, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp., said Binion and Gilmore serving in these leadership positions further reflects the bank’s commitment to the Gulf Coast through exceptional service and impactful community engagement.

“Mobile and South Alabama exemplify the kind of growth taking place throughout our Gulf Coast markets,” Turner said. “Bruner Binion is a Mobile native who knows the community inside and out. He epitomizes the mix of banking experience, leadership and community involvement we prioritize at Regions. And Tina Gilmore’s experience leading successful Regions branches will further strengthen our Consumer Banking focus across Coastal Alabama and Mississippi, as well as the Florida Panhandle. We are excited to welcome her to Mobile as she builds on her leadership experience with the bank.”

As market executive, Binion, a 15-year Regions veteran, will manage the bank’s comprehensive Regions360 approach to identifying and meeting customers’ banking needs while continuing his role as Commercial Banking leader. Through Regions360, Binion partners with colleagues in Commercial Banking, Consumer Banking, Mortgage Banking, Wealth Management, and other functions to identify ways the bank can meet the holistic financial needs of clients. He will also oversee Regions’ strategy for community engagement in the Mobile Bay area, advancing the bank’s focus on Economic and Community Development, Education and Workforce Readiness, and Financial Wellness initiatives.

“It’s an incredible honor to be selected to serve as market executive in my own home city,” Binion said. “Mobile’s economy is strong, from the Port of Mobile, to the Airport Authority, and to all the Chamber of Commerce is doing to bring in new industry and support current employers. We’re benefitting from great civic, business and community leadership, and Regions will continue to serve this market with the best in Commercial and Consumer Banking.”

A graduate of UMS Wright in Mobile and the University of Mississippi, Bruner is a Regions Chairman’s Club recipient, bestowed on the top 10% of commercial bankers across Regions’ multi-state footprint. He is also a graduate of Regions’ Client Advisor Program, in partnership with Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Business, as well as a graduate of Regions’ Emerging Leaders Program. Binion is currently active in leadership at the Mobile Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Southwest Alabama.

Most recently, Gilmore served as market executive for Regions in St. Petersburg and Clearwater.

“I’m honored to lead this Greater Gulf Coast Consumer Banking team as we help make a significant difference in our customers’ financial journeys,” said Gilmore. “It’s my responsibility to empower and equip all of our local branch teams with the skills and insights to deliver a holistic experience to every customer, no matter what their needs may be. At Regions, our goal is truly to deliver a personalized path to financial confidence from someone who cares.”
