What happens when you strike a golf ball? They call that impact. For the Regions Tradition, the impact isn’t just when golf balls are hit or when putt roll on the green.
The impact is much larger. It’s a “thwack” that resonates both on the course and within the greater community and beyond.
The Regions Tradition, which is scheduled for May 14-18 at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Hoover, Alabama, has just that type of impact. Each year some of the greatest golfers in the game come together for one of the major championships on the PGA TOUR Champions.

Its impact goes far beyond one span of time or winner. It’s also about:
- Supporting local nonprofits and the tournament’s primary beneficiary – Children’s of Alabama. Since the tournament started 32 years ago, it’s raised $24 million for Children’s and other charities.
- Our adaptive clinic which helps introduce individuals with disabilities to the game of golf.
- Providing a much needed economic boost to the area, and to local small business, in particular. Yearly, the Regions Tradition has an economic impact of more than $25 million.
- Offering a one-of-a-kind community event that is family-friendly, fun and offers something for everyone – from great food, to music, to sun and fun … and of course, great professional golf.
Back for 2024 is last year’s winner – Doug Barron. Barron closed out a great week at Greystone, holding off previous winners and a strong field to earn his first major on any tour.
