Portable Regions Bank Facility Serving Marianna, Fla., During Hurricane Michael Recovery

Mobile branch facility staffed by local bankers offering a wide range of financial services.

By Jeremy King | October 25, 2018

MARIANNA, Fla. – Oct. 25, 2018 – Regions Bank on Thursday announced the company’s full-service portable branch facility is now operational in downtown Marianna.

The portable branch is directly behind Regions’ main branch at 2889 Green St. The main branch sustained extensive damage during Hurricane Michael. The portable facility was established to help Regions’ local bankers resume financial services for people and businesses across Jackson County.

“Our community is at the beginning of a long-term recovery, and Regions Bank will be here for the people and businesses of Jackson County every step of the way,” said Trey Pleas, manager of Regions’ Marianna branch. “Since we opened the portable branch earlier this week, we’ve met with several longtime customers, and we’re working with them one-on-one to meet their financial needs following the storm. We’ve shared some hugs. We’ve shed some tears. We’re all a part of this community. And we’ll get through this – together.”

At Regions’ portable branch, customers can use an ATM around the clock, conduct transactions with Regions bankers during regular branch hours, and speak with financial professionals about storm-recovery needs. The ATM on the side of the portable branch is a Regions DepositSmart ATM, which can accept deposits and cash checks for customers at any time, day or night. The facility also features encrypted satellite uplink technology, security cameras and a 24/7 on-site security patrol.

“Every day, we are making progress in reopening branches across the communities that were hardest-hit by Hurricane Michael,” said John Anderson, Regions Consumer Banking Executive. “While our Marianna branch suffered more extensive damage than most other Regions locations, our commitment to the people and businesses of Jackson County remains the same. Regions’ portable branch will help us deliver services from local financial professionals who understand the needs of this community and are personally committed to Marianna’s long-term recovery.”

Elsewhere in the Panhandle, Regions locations have reopened in communities including Chipley, Bonifay, Freeport and Panama City Beach. This week, the company was also able to reopen its Harrison Avenue branch in Panama City, as well as its drive-through location at the intersection of State Ave. and 23rd Street. Regions has set up a mobile ATM adjacent to the bank’s Callaway branch as repairs are made to that location.

Regions branches in Southeast Alabama and Southwest Georgia suffered less impact from the hurricane and reopened in the days immediately following the storm.
