In the Limelight: Leaders in Diversity

The Birmingham Business Journal names Regions Bank and President & CEO John Turner 2023 Leaders in Diversity.

By Evelyn Mitchell | April 5, 2023

Regions Bank and President and CEO John Turner have been named 2023 Leaders in Diversity by the Birmingham Business Journal.

Who:

President and CEO John Turner

What:

Now in their third year, the Birmingham Business Journal Leaders in Diversity Awards celebrate individuals and companies that are making an impact. Honorees have shown exceptional commitment to promoting practices that advance diversity in the workplace, in business leadership and have made Birmingham’s economy more diverse and inclusive.

Why:

Regions Bank and President and CEO John Turner were recognized for strong executive and community leadership, initiatives to build a company culture of inclusion and belonging, efforts to recruit and develop diverse talent, programs to support associates who are veterans, military spouses and people with disabilities, and more.

In his own words:

“As I’ve spent time over the years with our associates, our customers, and the many people working to make life better in our communities, the foundational importance of ensuring everyone has an opportunity to contribute and to bring their voice and experience to the table just becomes more apparent every day. From a business perspective, our company, and really any company, can only be as strong as the communities we operate in, so the work is ultimately about creating more growth and opportunities for more people, which benefits all of us.”
