Great New Services. Same Great Location. Regions Bank Opens Renovated Burnside Avenue Branch in Gonzales

Historic bank building enhanced with latest technology and innovative branch design to deliver more convenient and in-depth banking experience.

GONZALES, La. – March 17, 2022 – Regions Bank on Thursday announced the opening of its newly renovated Burnside Avenue branch in Gonzales, combining the latest technology with the experience of engaging with local bankers to deliver a more convenient and personalized way for customers to access banking services.

The branch location, which for decades served as home to the Bank of Gonzales, is at the corner of Burnside Avenue and Worthy Road across the street from the EATEL building. Renovations were completed to turn the historic building into one of the most modern Regions branches in the area. There was no need for a temporary facility during the renovation as the four-story building was able to accommodate all construction without interrupting banking services.

“Similar to this centerpiece branch building, Regions Bank has been an historic anchor for this market through thick and thin, including a global pandemic and devastating natural disasters,” said Graham Ralston, market executive for Regions Bank in South Louisiana. “This investment to modernize and personalize our approach to customer service and engagement is just the latest example of Regions’ commitment to our longtime customers while attracting new customers who can benefit from our in-depth approach toward helping people and businesses achieve their financial goals.”

Customers arriving at the renovated location will still notice the giant door to the bank’s original vault with safe deposit boxes in full view – but they will no longer see a traditional teller line for service. Instead, they are greeted personally by a local Regions banker and invited to sit down and relax while receiving in-depth attention to their banking needs. It is an innovative approach to personal service called Regions Greenprint®.

Through one-on-one Greenprint conversations, Regions’ bankers listen to the needs, goals, and questions of individual consumers as well as small-business customers. Regions then helps customers create a tailored roadmap toward increasing their financial health and reaching their goals through recommended next steps. Whether simply opening an account or processing a transaction, or seeking detailed advice on reaching a financial milestone, customers are gravitating to this new approach to traditional banking.

“We have loved having our doors open and seeing our customers’ eyes light up when they first experience the vibrant new green décor,” said Burnside Branch Manager Erin Malbrough. “The Regions Greenprint service offering is icing on the cake. The way our associates dive in and ask questions in a non-intimidating manner really demonstrates our desire to go beyond simply serving their immediate banking needs by developing a more holistic banking relationship built on a mutual interest in their financial well-being. We know from the tremendous feedback we are receiving that customers really appreciate having this new type of holistic conversation.”

The branch also now offers Regions’ Video Banking ATM service. Through a drive-up Video Banking ATM, customers can choose standard ATM service – or they can connect with a Regions Video Banker via live, two-way video for personal service during expanded hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The location also includes two drive-up DepositSmart ATMs that can be used to withdraw cash or make deposits of checks or cash at any time, around the clock.

“With the retail center down the road, and the new hospital under construction, this investment to make banking easier for our customers was a no brainer,” said Lisa Phillips, consumer banking executive for Regions. “Just upgrading from one ATM to two DepositSmart ATMs, plus adding the full-service capabilities of a Video Banking ATM, has been a big difference maker. It reflects our commitment to build on our service to South Louisiana while growing our customer base throughout the area.”
