Discovering the World of Regions

Interactive diversity and inclusion experience connects colleagues and builds stronger relationships.

By Jeremy King | December 2, 2019

Five events. Three cities. Thousands of Regions associates. One key result: a stronger connection with each other.

This fall, the Diversity and Inclusion team at Regions is delivering an interactive experience, called World of Regions, to bank associates working in different departments across the company. The experience is designed to celebrate our unique backgrounds, recognize our associates’ wide range of skills, and connect people more closely with their colleagues, who come from around the globe.

While these specific events took place in Birmingham, Alabama; Nashville, Tennessee; and St. Louis, Missouri; associates throughout Regions’ footprint are still taking part through ongoing internal activities.

No matter where we’re from, we all share the same mission: to make life better for our customers and communities.

Through these events, “We looked at who we are, what we do, and who we serve,” said Kimberly Robichaud, Birmingham-based Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager for Regions. “It made it so incredibly vast to look at from a global diversity perspective.”

“We’re a reflection of the community we serve,” added Lee Blank, Nashville Market Executive for Regions. “So it’s good for people to see the diversity within our workforce matches the diversity within Nashville.”

And in the Midwest, “With St. Louis being a growth market, and the branch expansion we’ve had, we have a lot of new associates coming into the company and associates working with different partners,” said Market Executive Mike Hart. “So this – that brings everybody together and makes people appreciate the power of working together – really helps us continue to grow.”

The photo gallery linked here shows the reactions of colleagues as they went through the experience. Plus, take a moment to watch the video below, and see for yourself how World of Regions takes a highly creative, incredibly fun and deeply meaningful approach to bringing people together.
