Regions Foundation Awards $100,000 in Hurricane Isaias Disaster-Recovery Grants

Grant funding for nonprofit partners supporting hurricane relief efforts complements previously announced financial assistance offered by Regions Bank.

By Nestor Mato and Ashley Foster | October 19, 2026

DESTIN, Fla. – Oct. 19, 2026 – The Regions Foundation on Monday announced $100,000 in disaster-recovery grant funding to support nonprofits serving communities impacted by Hurricane Isaias. Four disaster-recovery grants of $25,000 each have been awarded to the American Red Cross, United Way of Northwest Florida, United Way Emerald Coast and United Way of West Florida.

Regions Foundation Grants

The Regions Foundation is a nonprofit funded primarily by Regions Bank, which launched its own response to Isaias by offering special banking services for people and businesses affected by the storm. Grant recipients include:

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is providing emergency shelter, meals, relief supplies and recovery assistance to individuals and families. The grant from the Regions Foundation will help support the organization’s ongoing response and recovery efforts in impacted communities. Donations can be made by visiting redcross.org, calling 1- 800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999.

United Way of Northwest Florida

Serving Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson and Washington counties, United Way of Northwest Florida is helping connect residents with critical resources and support services as communities assess damage and accelerate recovery efforts. To support ongoing relief and recovery, donations can be made online at unitedwaynwfl.org.

United Way Emerald Coast

Serving Walton and Okaloosa counties, United Way of the Emerald Coast is supporting recovery efforts by connecting people with emergency assistance, community resources and long-term support. Several donation options are available and can be accessed here.

United Way of West Florida

Serving Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, United Way of West Florida (UWWF) is working with community partners to provide assistance in response to a wide range of needs. United Way of West Florida operates 211 Northwest Florida across a 10-county region in partnership with United Way Emerald Coast and United Way Northwest Florida. While 211 connects callers to resources 24/7 during blue skies and in times of disaster, online UWWF Recovery Fund donations can be made at the following link.

Through these grants, the Regions Foundation is supporting trusted nonprofits with decades of experience helping communities move forward from times of disaster and need.

What Leaders are Saying

Recovery begins at the local level, and these organizations serve a crucial role in helping people not only with immediate needs, but also long-term concerns.”

Leroy Abrahams, head of Community and Market Engagement for Regions Bank and president of the Regions Foundation.

“Recovery begins at the local level, and these organizations serve a crucial role in helping people not only with immediate needs, but also long-term concerns,” said Leroy Abrahams, head of Community and Market Engagement for Regions Bank and president of the Regions Foundation. “From providing immediate relief to supporting long-term recovery efforts, these community partners are making a meaningful difference. We stand with them and encourage others who are able to do the same.”

“The nonprofit community often remains on the ground long after a storm has passed, helping people navigate the challenges that come with recovery,” said Tina Gilmore-Johnson, consumer banking executive for Regions Bank’s Greater Gulf Coast Region. “These grants from our colleagues at the Regions Foundation will help trusted community partners continue delivering assistance and resources where they are needed most.”
