No Warrior Left Behind: Regions Bank Joins Smoky Mountain Service Dogs to Help the Wounded Stand

Sponsorship will help provide a canine companion for a disabled veteran.

By Veleka Finch | June 14, 2022

“Thank you for your service.”

That refrain can be heard time and again on patriotic holidays – like Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day – spoken to brave men and women who have served or are still serving in our nation’s military.

Regions Bank associates in Knoxville, Tennessee, have found a way to symbolically echo this heartfelt sentiment year-round to a special set of heroes – disabled veterans in need of canine companionship to overcome mobility issues.

Through a recent donation to the nonprofit Smoky Mountain Service Dogs, Regions is helping sponsor a designated pup that will be raised and trained over the next three years to be matched with a wounded warrior in need.

We could write for days about the incredible impact of Smoky Mountain Service Dogs. But the below video illustrates the nonprofit’s extraordinary significance in ways that go well beyond the written word. Take a moment, and take a look. Then consider how you, too, can support America’s brave warriors who could use some assistance from a thankful community.

FORE! It’s an annual Regions tradition to hit the links in honor of our injured heroes.

A team of Regions associates will participate later this month in the 2022 Smoky Mountain Service Dogs Golf Challenge – Four Person Scramble. The event is set for Saturday, June 25, at the Toqua Golf Course in Tellico Village in Loudon, Tennessee. All proceeds will benefit Smoky Mountain Service Dogs.

You can tee up for a hero, too.
