Seanna McGough Named Head of Learning and Development for Regions Bank

McGough succeeds Sue Hengel, retiring after 13 years at Regions.

By Evelyn Mitchell | January 6, 2021

Regions today announced that Seanna McGough has been named head of Learning and Development reporting to Dave Keenan, Chief Administrative and Human Resources Officer.

“I am excited to have a leader with Seanna’s experience and enthusiasm joining the Regions team as we continue to build a culture of learning and provide development opportunities for associates across the company,” said Keenan.

McGough joins Regions from Wells Fargo, where she has held roles of increasing responsibility within the human resources area over the past 22 years. Most recently McGough was Chief Learning Officer where she led a team of more than 600 employees with responsibility for all functional learning programs for the bank’s roughly 260,000 team members.

During her career at Wells Fargo and its predecessors, McGough led a variety of innovative learning, development and talent acquisition programs at the enterprise level as well as in the areas of Risk Management, Wealth and Investment Management, and Wholesale Banking. Her experience also includes regulatory engagement, merger integration, and diversity and inclusion program implementation. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida A&M University.

McGough fills the role currently held by Sue Hengel, who is retiring at the end of January. During her 13 years at Regions, Hengel has held a variety of positions in the Human Resources Group encompassing learning and development, organizational effectiveness and leadership development.
