Service and Support: Regions Bank Announces Latest Funding for Canopy Children’s Solutions

Bank provides $800,000 in support to Canopy Children’s Solutions while also supporting Canopy’s 2024 Mental Health Summit.

By Nestor Mato | July 30, 2024

JACKSON, Miss. – July 30, 2024 – Regions Bank on Tuesday announced $800,000 in financial support to Canopy Children’s Solutions, Mississippi’s largest nonprofit provider of behavioral health, educational and family support solutions. Regions also served as a presenting sponsor of Canopy’s 2024 Children’s Mental Health Summit.

The funding was facilitated over the last 12 months through Regions’ participation in two Mississippi tax credit programs – the Children’s Promise program and the Eligible Transitional Housing Organizations (ETHO) program. Canopy’s services directly complement Regions’ community engagement priorities, which include supporting organizations that foster greater education and workforce readiness. Additional priorities for the bank include supporting economic and community development initiatives and financial wellness.

The bank’s financial support is designed to help Canopy in its commitment to connecting children in Mississippi with essential care needs. Services include behavioral health and education support for children, as well as family-support needs.

Regions also presented the 10th annual Children’s Mental Health Summit. Each year, the conference aims to gather community leaders and mental health professionals to cultivate conversations and use tools to create meaningful impact for children and families facing mental health challenges.

This year’s theme was The Ecology of a Child. More than 300 participants attended the event at the Sheraton Flowood Refuge Resort and Conference Center. The summit included breakout sessions for attendees covering topics such mental wellbeing, self-care, autism spectrum disorders, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and more. There was also a Regions Next Step session where financial wellness and money management tips were shared by Regions volunteers.
