Father's Day Ecards

Inspired by Mother’s Day, Father’s Day became an official U.S. holiday in 1972.

But it was a slow buildup. Father’s Day was officially recognized for the first time more than a century after moms got their first party.

Turns out it was worth the wait.

West Virginia church first celebrated the holiday in 1908 in honor of 362 men killed in a mining explosion. It caught on, but not officially, until Richard Nixon was in the White House.

Today, we celebrate on the third Sunday of June with gifts, cards, sumptuous meals and corny dad jokes.

Wish the real superhero in your life a Happy Father’s Day.
