Renovated and Reimagined: Regions Bank Unveils Modernized Downtown Indy Branch

Open layout, updated technology and personal service combine to provide a more meaningful banking experience.

By Kim Borges | October 23, 2019

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – October 23, 2019  – Regions Bank on Wednesday formally unveiled its newly renovated downtown branch at the base of the Regions Tower on the corner of Ohio and Pennsylvania Streets. The modernized branch features an open layout and enhanced technology designed to create a more convenient and personalized banking experience.

“Our Tower branch has been serving people and businesses in the heart of downtown for five decades,” said Erik Miner, Regions’ Greater Indianapolis Market Executive. “The investments we’re making in this location reflect our continued commitment to serving our Circle City customers by providing customized solutions from local financial professionals.”

As part of its open floorplan, the Tower branch does not include a traditional teller line. Instead, when people walk into the branch, they are greeted face-to-face by a Regions banker with the expertise to meet a full range of branch-banking needs. In addition to helping with general transactions, each banker at the Tower branch is ready to work with customers one-on-one to develop savings plans, explore customized financial services, reach business objectives or accomplish other financial goals.

“The Indy Tower branch design begins and ends with the customer in mind,” said Mike Dennis, Midwest Consumer Banking Executive for Regions. “If someone is seeking advice or guidance about a major life decision, we have quiet, private space to have those thoughtful conversations with a member of our banking team. If they need to conduct a simple, quick transaction, we have that capability as well.”

The Tower branch also reflects the growing number of locations offering Regions Video Banking. In addition to being able to deposit cash or checks, make a withdrawal, or transfer funds, Regions Video Banking ATMs allow customers to choose to connect with a Regions banker via live, two-way video. Along with processing most general transactions, Regions Video Bankers help customers with account maintenance and general inquiries during expanded hours.

Regions Video Bankers are available on weekdays from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET. They are also available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sundays from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. and during most holidays. The Video Banking ATM at the Tower branch is in the building lobby, which is accessible after-hours.

Even outside of Video Bankers’ expanded hours, the branch’s interior Video Banking ATM also functions as a DepositSmart ATM.

Along with dispensing cash and providing account information, DepositSmart ATMs can accept deposits of cash or checks at any time.

They can also cash checks around the clock, providing another quick, convenient option for Regions customers.

In addition to the reimagined Tower branch, Regions is buildings on its Indianapolis-area branch investments through the development of a new location expected to open in Whitestown by early fall 2020.

Similar to the Tower branch, the Whitestown location will feature Regions’ latest branch-design strategies and technologies. The branch design was first seen locally in Regions’ Bridges Branch in Carmel in 2017.

“We recognize that our customers have a variety of needs and options related to their banking,” said Michelle Walters, Consumer Banking Regional Executive for Regions. “By making significant investments to modernize not only our branch services, but also our digital solutions, Regions is proactively meeting those needs today – and tomorrow. It’s about creating a comprehensive banking experience defined by convenience, service and value.”
