Justin Burriss Rejoins Regions Bank as Murfreesboro Market Executive

Burriss’ experience and deep Middle Tennessee roots will serve a key role in helping Regions expand its client base in Murfreesboro and Greater Rutherford County.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – June  30, 2025 – Regions Bank on Monday announced Justin Burriss recently rejoined the company as Commercial Banking relationship manager and market executive for Murfreesboro, Tenn., as well as greater Rutherford County and surrounding communities.

Burriss has almost 20 years of banking experience, 10 of which he gained earlier in his career with Regions. Burriss started his career in 2006 as a branch manager in Murfreesboro for AmSouth Bank, a Regions predecessor. In 2009, Burriss moved to Tampa, Fla., as a branch manager and small business banker for Regions before relocating back to Murfreesboro with Regions in 2012. Most recently, Burriss served as a senior vice president and commercial banker for First National Bank before rejoining Regions earlier this year.

I admire and respect Justin’s deep understanding of the market, his talent and experience working with a wide range of clients, and his commitment to helping our company enhance how we engage in the Murfreesboro community. John Turner, Chairman, President, and CEO of Regions Bank

As market executive, Burriss will lead the bank’s comprehensive Regions360 approach to identifying and meeting customers’ unique banking needs. Burriss will team with Regions colleagues in Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking, Mortgage Banking, Wealth Management, and other functions to deliver holistic financial solutions for clients across the Murfreesboro area.

“Murfreesboro is an exceptional community with a strong quality of life and solid business growth. It takes an exceptional banker like Justin Burriss to best identify how Regions can build on its legacy of local service in ways that truly benefit people and businesses across Rutherford County and beyond,” commented John Turner, Chairman, President, and CEO of Regions Bank. “I admire and respect Justin’s deep understanding of the market, his talent and experience working with a wide range of clients, and his commitment to helping our company enhance how we engage in the Murfreesboro community.”

Regions operates five branch-banking offices in Murfreesboro, along with two additional branches in Smyrna and another location in La Vergne, all part of the vibrant I-24 corridor southeast of Nashville. Burriss said Rutherford County is an important market for Regions because it has its own vibrant ecosystem and ample economic opportunities.

“New businesses are moving here, existing businesses are expanding here, and multi-million-dollar mixed-use developments are under way here,” Burriss added.  “We offer advantages such as lower costs of living and doing business, and we have impactful government and business leadership here. We also have a strong local identity that we’re proud to share with more and more people as they move into Rutherford County.”

Burriss will also oversee Regions’ strategy for community engagement in Murfreesboro. Regions prioritizes community-based initiatives that address three key priorities:

  • Education and Workforce Readiness;
  • Financial Wellness initiatives; and
  • Economic and Community Development.

Burriss is a longtime supporter of United Way of South Central Tennessee and the American Heart Association. He currently serves on the City of Murfreesboro Pension Committee and is a past treasurer for the Murfreesboro City Schools Foundation. Burriss is a member and past president of Rutherford County Sportsman’s Club and a graduate of Leadership Rutherford.

“Regions has a high level of visibility here because we are deeply embedded in the community,” Burriss said. “We have a solid base of associates who are actively involved as volunteers and supporters for major local events and causes. So, our current and prospective clients see us out and about everywhere.”

Burriss plans to build on that goodwill as he leads in business and the community.

“Murfreesboro has that small-town feeling that lends itself well to relationship banking and client success,” Burriss says. “ I consider myself a servant-leader, here to help our customers succeed and our community thrive.”

Burriss graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

Burriss and his wife Jamie have two daughters, Sophie (13) and Pippa (10). When he is not working or volunteering, Burriss enjoys traveling, playing golf, snow skiing and cooking with his family.
