What is Regions Involvement?
Regions is an official sponsor of the World Games in Birmingham, and one of a handful of Foundation Sponsors for the event. In addition to a presence in multiple venues and volunteer opportunities during the games, Regions’ name is on the World Games Plaza – an area near the new Protective Stadium in Birmingham’s Uptown District.
During the games, this area will be a hub of activity, including being part of the opening and closing ceremonies, having scheduled performers, sports demonstrations, food, ongoing games coverage and more. It’s a free, family-friendly celebration area, and Regions will have a presence in that location – with booths, the Big Bike and much more.
Why is Regions Involved?
“The World Games provides a unique opportunity to showcase Greater Birmingham on the international stage as we host athletes and their families, spectators and the many organizations needed to make this event successful,” said John Turner, Regions President and CEO. “Regions is excited to partner with the City of Birmingham and the local business community to support The World Games through a sustained investment that will produce a positive economic impact in the community we call home.”
