Leslie Carter-Prall, Executive Vice President and head of Regions Private Wealth Management, shared her perspective on the changing dynamics of women in professional leadership, reflecting on her expansive career in financial services.
Women can differentiate themselves through management style, presentation, and associate interactions, but hard work and diligence are the true differentiators.

“Women can differentiate themselves through management style, presentation, and associate interactions, but hard work and diligence are the true differentiators,” Carter-Prall says. “I feel confident that the trend of seeing more women in leadership positions will continue. However, I believe that the success benchmark should be women who are satisfied and challenged with their careers while achieving their personal goals. The more women we have hitting that success benchmark, the more women we will see organically rising in the leadership ranks.”

Having a vision and being able to effectively communicate to create alignment is key.

Anna Brackin, Chief Compliance Officer for Regions Bank, recalled her early days as a young professional in a leadership role and lessons learned along the way. “Having a vision and being able to effectively communicate to create alignment is key. Be confident in your skills, your ability, your drive, yourself,” she shared. “Surround yourself with people that constantly challenge you and push you toward growth. Step out of your comfort zone to find people you can trust and that you bond with and have fun. Lastly, seek feedback and reflect on it as it will help you grow. A mentor once told me feedback is a gift and I truly believe that.”
