Regions Honors Kathleen Bowley with July Better Life Award

Thoughtful helper shares life lessons and extra attention with fellow widows.

Kathleen Bowley has a heart for widows. Since losing her husband in 1997, the Assistant Branch Manager has reached out to other widows to help them face the challenges brought about by their new financial, household and social situations. She tends to their banking needs, gives them a lift to the grocery store, and sometimes joins them just to sit and chat or watch TV.

Kathleen also has a heart for orphans, the furry kind in particular. She volunteers weekly at St. Animal Pet Adoptions in St. Ann, Mo., where she gives food, water and medicine to the animals. She also walks them, plays with them and cleans up after them, and helps organize adoption drives at pet stores and community events. Regions is donating $1,000 to St. Animal Pet Adoptions in Kathleen’s honor.

Kathleen has a passion for helping her Regions colleagues, too. In addition to imparting banking knowledge gained over her 35-year career, she supports her team members at and away from work, and volunteers to cover shifts when other branches are short-staffed.

Kathleen also volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association and Service International Disaster Relief. She has passed down her work ethic and desire to serve to her three sons and grandchildren, and considers it a blessing to be a positive force in so many lives.
