HATTIESBURG, Miss. – April 25, 2019 – Regions Bank on Thursday joined city and economic development leaders to cut the ribbon and celebrate the official opening of the company’s newly relocated branch in downtown Hattiesburg.

“Regions Bank is committed to Hattiesburg, and we are excited to celebrate an important milestone in the growth and development of the downtown area,” said Greg Garraway, Hattiesburg Market Executive for Regions. “We are proud to be part of the ongoing revitalization of downtown. This new branch, along with the future grand opening of our Mortgage Operations Center, will support the long-term growth and success of Hattiesburg and the Pine Belt.”

The branch at 501 North Main Street replaces a previous Regions branch on Front Street. The new location is part of Regions’ plan to grow its presence in Hattiesburg. In 2017, Regions announced it would relocate the downtown branch to allow for redevelopment of the Kress, Front Street and Forrest Tower facilities that housed Regions associates working for various business groups in the bank, primarily the Mortgage division.

The business groups are now in the bank’s new, 60,000 square-foot Mortgage Operations Center in west Hattiesburg. The move is creating approximately 90 new jobs while providing space for additional growth as needed. Regions and local leaders plan to celebrate the grand opening of the Mortgage Operations Center in the coming weeks.

“We value our strong relationship with Regions Bank and appreciate the company’s continued investment here in greater Hattiesburg,” Hattiesburg Area Development Partnership President Chris Newell said. “Regions’ new branch location on Main Street is in a very visible, prominent location and shows the company’s desire to maintain a retail-banking presence in our city’s core.”

Hattiesburg City Councilwoman Mary Dryden recognized Regions for its continued economic support of the Hub City at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“Today, we celebrate the opening of this new branch and look forward to future prosperity, recognizing that the presence of Regions Bank will play a significant part in Hattiesburg’s development as a premier city,” she said.

The new branch provides a convenient location for Regions’ local team to serve individuals and small businesses in Forrest and Lamar counties.

The branch is staffed with Regions professionals who will help customers with general transactions while also offering in-depth conversations to help meet customers’ financial needs.

Branch Manager Chandler Finnegan, a Hattiesburg native, leads the team of associates at the Main Street branch.

“Downtown Hattiesburg is where our community comes together,” Finnegan said. “Our branch team is excited to welcome customers to our new branch, and we invite the community to stop by and visit. Our team has a wealth of knowledge and experience that can be helpful at every important milestone in someone’s life. From creating a savings plan, to creating a long-term financial goal, or making a major purchase, our associates are ready to help right here in downtown.”
