PADUCAH, Ky. – July 14, 2017 – Regions Bank on Friday presented a cash reward, along with a special gift, to Jason Sesock, who helped stop a recent robbery attempt outside a Regions location along Broadway in Paducah.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on June 30, a woman was preparing to make a night deposit outside the branch when, according to police, she was approached by a man who was carrying a metal bar as a weapon. Sesock was passing by the branch at the time. Police said Sesock saw the attempted robbery underway and used his skateboard to strike the alleged robber and foil the robbery attempt.
In recognition of his bravery, Regions presented Sesock with a $500 reward – along with a custom-made skateboard bearing the company’s signature LifeGreen color.
“Jason had a split second to decide what to do, and, without hesitation, he chose to defend someone who needed help,” said Regions Branch Manager Jo Anna Brown. “While we never want someone to feel as though they have to put themselves at risk, Jason saw a need and took action, and we are tremendously grateful for his bravery.”
Brown added, “Regions is known for its green bicycles, and we enjoy giving them away at special events. But in this case, we thought Jason would like a new board instead. So we found a company that makes custom boards and told them about what Jason did. We are honored to give him this gift as part of our appreciation for his brave, heroic act.”
