Regions Bank Elevates Harry Patton IV to Mississippi Delta Market Executive

Patton brings more than 20 years of banking and agriculture experience to support the people and businesses of the Delta.

By Veleka Finch | June 30, 2025

GREENVILLE, Miss. – June 30, 2025 – Regions Bank on Monday announced the elevation of Harry Patton IV to serve as market executive for the Mississippi Delta. Based in Greenville and serving additional communities such as Greenwood, Clarksdale, Cleveland and more, Patton has over 23 years of banking and financial services experience coupled with a life-long appreciation for the needs of people and businesses in the Delta.

Patton joined Regions in 2022 as a Commercial Banking relationship manager supporting clients in the agricultural industry. Before joining Regions, Patton worked for a local community banking institution for more than 15 years. Prior to that, Patton served as a bank examiner with the Mississippi Department of Banking and Consumer Finance.

As Market Executive, Patton will now lead the bank’s comprehensive Regions360 approach to identifying and meeting customers’ unique banking needs. Patton will team with Regions colleagues in Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking, Mortgage Banking, Wealth Management, and other functions to deliver holistic financial solutions for clients across the Delta.

Harry is known and respected as a down-to-earth banker who meets people wherever they are literally and figuratively. John Turner, Chairman, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp.

“Harry’s deep investment in Mississippi and understanding of the unique culture of the Delta make him a valuable asset to our company in every way,” said John Turner, Chairman, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp. “Harry is known and respected as a down-to-earth banker who meets people wherever they are literally and figuratively. He is a great listener and problem solver who’s especially adept at assessing our customers’ financial needs and matching them with our local Regions bankers and our service offerings to address their priorities now and in the future.”

A native of Nitta Yuma and resident of Leland for eighteen years, Patton grew up on a row crop farm. Patton earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and Finance from Mississippi State University. He also attended the Mississippi School of Banking, the Graduate School of Banking at LSU, and the Southeastern School of Commercial Lending at Vanderbilt University.

“When I was graduating from high school, my father advised me to learn varied skills before going into the family farming business,” Patton said. “My great-grandfather was a banker, and my mom’s father was involved in banking. I was great in math, and I loved numbers, so I thought banking would be a good fit for me.”

Patton emphasized the importance of long-term relationships in the Delta.

“Some of our Regions clients have been around for over 80 years. Here, our economy is mostly driven by agriculture – and our clients are farmers, dealers, equipment makers, and family-owned businesses that serve ag clients,” Patton said. “At Regions, we provide our clients with the same personalized services that they expect from smaller community banks plus a wider range of products and solutions that we can offer.”

Patton reports to Walt Stephens, Regions’ Commercial Banking Leader for Mississippi. Stephens has known Patton for over 20 years.

“Harry was the right person in the right place at the right time when this opportunity presented itself,” Stephens said. “Harry brings instant credibility. He always puts people first. With Harry, it is always about the clients. His ability to foster new relationships and nurture existing relationships is unmatched.”

Patton will also oversee Regions’ strategy for community engagement in the Delta. Regions prioritizes community-based initiatives that address three key priorities:

  • Education and Workforce Readiness;
  • Financial Wellness initiatives; and
  • Economic and Community Development.

“I don’t see myself as only a banker. I see myself as a strategic collaborator. I want to address the challenges our customers face, and that starts with listening and understanding those challenges,” Patton said. “I want to be known as a banker who delivers not just financial results, but also empathy and compassion. The Delta is unique. We have a special culture. We have to stick together as a community to succeed, and teamwork is important.”

When he isn’t working or volunteering his time and talent to economic development causes, Patton and his wife Anna Haskins Patton enjoy attending Mississippi State sporting events with their son Harry Patton V, aged 12. They also enjoy hunting, fishing, and golfing together as a family.
