ATHENS, Ga. – Dec. 18, 2019 – Regions Bank on Wednesday announced Jim Jones has joined the company and will serve as Market Executive and Commercial Banking Relationship Manager for Athens and surrounding communities in northeast Georgia.
Jones is part of a team of Regions leaders who will leverage their local experience and market insights to expand Regions’ client base throughout the region while also taking a strategic, proactive role in addressing needs affecting the broader community.
As Market Executive, Jones will work with colleagues and community members to identify opportunities for the bank to make a meaningful difference through volunteer service, nonprofit support, delivering financial education, and more. In his role as Commercial Banking Relationship Manager, Jones will collaborate with colleagues to deliver financial solutions for businesses and major employers in Athens and beyond.

Jones has a 23-year career in banking spanning four states. He joins Regions from Wells Fargo, where he most recently served as Area Business Banking Manager in South Carolina. He also held key commercial banking leadership roles for Wachovia and SouthTrust. Jones previously served as Market President for Wachovia in Athens before being promoted to Regional Business Banking Manager for Georgia.
At Regions, Jones and Athens-area teams will focus on consistently reaching the objectives of Regions360, the bank’s comprehensive approach to meeting customers’ needs. Through Regions360, the company’s bankers learn the unique goals of each customer and collaborate with colleagues from across Regions’ various banking departments to develop holistic solutions customized for individual clients.

Jones graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He earned a Master of Business Administration at Appalachian State as well. Jones also attended the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School and served in both the U.S. Army and the North Carolina Army National Guard.
