One Week. One Theme. Countless Celebration Possibilities

Evergreen Week at Regions Bank is a time to celebrate associates – but it’s so much more than that.

By Nicole Wyatt | September 11, 2023

Rewarding.

Fun filled.

Unmatched.

These are just some of the ways Regions associates describe Evergreen, the annual weeklong employee appreciation event at the bank.

But it’s so much more than that.

“Evergreen has always held a special place in the company since it began in 2007 or so,” explained Bret Pippen, head of Regions Enterprise Initiatives and Change Management. “It’s a physical manifestation of two of our key values: Put People First and Enjoy Life.”

“Evergreen Week is all about celebrating the associates, what they do to meet customer needs, to support the community, what they do for each other and the unique culture we have at Regions,” said Mel Campbell, Regions Corporate Communications senior business partner and Evergreen communications coordinator.

Pippen notes that each associate should be recognized for their hard work every day; however, Regions has chosen to carve out one week where the entire company’s focus is squarely on the associate.

“Associates who feel appreciated are engaged associates and engaged associates make this company successful,” Pippen said.

The week looks different across the Regions footprint, across departments, branches and from team to team. You’ll find everything from potlucks to team community volunteer activities, to theme days, decorations and more.

“Over the years, we’ve looked forward to and embraced Evergreen week,” said Steve Nivet, regional Consumer Banking executive for the South region.

“The diversity of activities throughout the week continues to allow for us to not only recognize each other but learn from each other,” Nivet added. “Evergreen demonstrates our values as a company, including doing what is right and enjoying life.”

Chris Glaub, Regions Corporate Benefits manager, says Evergreen is an opportunity to celebrate Regions associates in a more deliberate manner, beyond providing words of affirmation year-round, and donuts and snacks occasionally.

Evergreen has been a Regions tradition for years, just as special occasions and holidays sweeten throughout the years, so does Evergreen.Stephanie Perryman, Regions market executive

“During Evergreen Week we can be more over the top with decorations, silly games, etc., that during the other 51 weeks of the year might get a raised eyebrow or two,” Glaub said.

Each year, associates and teams take the celebrations to a whole new level, adds Stephanie Perryman, Regions market executive in Central Texas.

“Evergreen has been a Regions tradition for years, just as special occasions and holidays sweeten throughout the years, so does Evergreen,” Perryman said.

“This year will be memorable once again. Proud to be a part of it,” Nivet said.

The 2023 Evergreen Week celebration takes place Sept. 18-22. Stay tuned to see how Regions teams bring the theme of Regions United: People, Power and Purpose, to life!
