More Personal Service. More Modern Technology. Regions Bank Cuts the Ribbon on New Sarasota Location

Local expertise, personal service and modern technology are at the heart of the branch’s design.

By Jennifer Elmore | June 21, 2019

SARASOTA, Fla. – June 21, 2019 – Regions Bank on Friday cut the ribbon and formally unveiled the company’s latest branch in Florida that offers a unique blend of updated technology and personal service.

“This new branch is a significant investment in the Sarasota community, and it is the latest example of how Regions is offering a more convenient banking experience that’s built around the needs of today’s customers,” said Gerhard Toth, Sarasota Market Executive for Regions. “Our local team is committed to the people and businesses of Sarasota and beyond, and we’re excited to welcome them to a new facility that combines the best in personal service with the latest in technology.”

The open design of the branch at 4034 S. Tamiami Trail does not include a traditional teller line. Instead of waiting to be called to a counter, when people walk into the branch, they are greeted face-to-face by a local Regions banker.

Regions associates at the Southgate branch in Sarasota cut the ribbon to formally open the company’s most modern branch in the Sarasota area. Similar branches have also opened in the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas in recent months.

In addition to helping people with general transactions, each banker at the Sarasota office can help customers with in-depth needs, such as planning budgets, analyzing financial options and creating a personalized roadmap designed to help people accomplish their financial objectives.

The branch also becomes part of a growing number of locations offering Regions Video Banking. In addition to being able to deposit cash or checks, make a withdrawal or transfer funds, Video Banking ATMs allow customers to choose to connect with a Regions Video Banker via live, two-way video. Along with processing most general transactions, Regions Video Bankers help customers with account maintenance and general inquiries during expanded hours.

Regions Video Bankers are available on weekdays from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET. They are also available on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and during most holidays.

The branch includes two Video Banking ATMs in the drive-through as well as two walk-up Video Banking ATMs in the foyer. The foyer is accessible after-hours by scanning a debit or credit card with a magnetic stripe for entry.

Even outside of Video Bankers’ expanded hours, the branch’s ATMs can always function as DepositSmart ATMs if the customer chooses. In addition to dispensing cash and providing account information, DepositSmart ATMs can accept deposits of cash or checks at any time, day or night. They can also cash checks around the clock, providing another quick, convenient option for Regions customers.

“While mobile and online banking put the power of Regions in the palm of your hand, there is also a strong demand for local banking professionals who offer customized advice and guidance to help people make informed financial decisions. That’s exactly what Regions offers at our local branches,” said Jason Stiff, Consumer Banking Manager for Regions. “This is more than a place to cash a check or open an account. While we certainly provide traditional financial services, we also provide personalized, face-to-face consultation and service with the goal of helping people reach their short-term and long-term financial objectives.”

Regions Video Banking ATMs allow people to choose standard ATM service or personal service from a Regions Video Banker, who speaks with customers via live, two-way video. Regions is inviting the community to a grand opening celebration on Saturday, July 13 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The branch team will provide overviews of the location’s features while offering food from Tijuana Flats and children’s activities. In addition, a Regions LifeGreen Cruiser bike and a $250 gift card will be given away at the end of the event. Amazon Echo Dots will be given away during the event.

“The grand opening is the perfect chance to experience Regions’ commitment to localized financial services from our banking professionals,” said Lisa McKenzie Heisner, Southgate Sarasota branch manager. “We are committed to listening to the unique needs of each person who walks through our doors and developing financial solutions to meet those needs. Through our local experience, combined with the resources of our entire company, we will be able to build on Regions’ legacy of service to the Sarasota area.”
