More Convenience. More Personal Service. Regions Bank Expands to Lakeland, Tenn., with Modern New Branch

Lakeland branch is the latest example of Regions’ Memphis-area investments.

LAKELAND, Tenn. – Regions Bank on Wednesday announced the opening of a new branch serving Lakeland and surrounding communities. The branch is one of the most modern Regions locations in the Mid-South, and the public is invited to experience its unique blend of new technology and personal service during a grand opening on Saturday, April 21.

“For some time, our customers have been asking us to expand into Lakeland, and we are especially proud to open this location that’s designed to reinforce the value of personal service from local bankers who understand the needs and opportunities affecting people and businesses in our community,” said Michael Pardue, Consumer Banking Executive for Regions. “Our bankers are focused on having deeper conversations with customers to help them reach their financial goals. At the same time, we’re offering the latest in technology, so when a customer needs quick, efficient service early in the morning, late in the evening, or even on Saturday or Sunday, this branch has what that customer needs, too.”

The open design of the branch near the corner of Canada Road and U.S. Highway 64 does not include a traditional teller line. Instead of waiting to be called up to a counter, when people walk into the Lakeland branch, they are greeted face-to-face by a local Regions banker who can help with everything from general transactions to more in-depth needs, such as planning budgets, analyzing financial options or creating a roadmap designed to help people accomplish their individual financial goals.

The open design of the branch does not include a traditional teller line. Instead, customers are greeted personally by a Regions banker who can deliver a complete range of branch-banking services.

The branch also becomes the latest in the Mid-South to offer Regions Video Banking. The branch includes three Video Banking ATMs in the drive-through as well as a walk-up Video Banking ATM in the foyer.

Video Banking ATMs allow customers to choose to connect with a Regions Video Banker via live, two-way video for personal service in a convenient setting. Along with processing most general transactions, Regions Video Bankers help people with account maintenance and general inquiries during expanded hours.

Regions Video Bankers are available on weekdays from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. CT. They are also available on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and during most holidays.

Even outside of Video Bankers’ expanded hours, the branch’s ATMs can always function as DepositSmart ATMs if the customer chooses. In addition to dispensing cash and providing account information, DepositSmart ATMs can accept deposits of cash or checks at any time, day or night. They can also cash checks around the clock, providing another quick, convenient option for Regions customers.

Other features include Regions’ facial recognition and fingerprint technology for customers using safe deposit boxes. This system employs several layers of technology designed to enhance security surrounding safe deposit boxes while also improving efficiency of access for Regions customers.

“Regions continues to invest in online and mobile banking channels, but at the same time, branches are still the primary place where people prefer to open accounts and have discussions about personal financial goals,” said David May, West Tennessee President for Regions. “This branch places a premium on customized service while also providing technology upgrades designed to meet the needs of today’s consumers.”

While the branch officially opened for business on April 9, Regions is organizing a grand opening celebration scheduled for April 21 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. In addition to hosting Regions’ “Big Green Bike” and offering free food, games and prizes, the grand opening will give people a chance to experience the branch’s technology and personalized services first-hand.

“The grand opening is the perfect chance to experience Regions’ commitment to the latest in technology and the best in personal service,” Pardue said. “We look forward to serving longtime customers, and welcoming new ones, at this modern, convenient location.”

In addition to the new Lakeland branch, in recent years, Regions has opened new branches, or extensively renovated existing branches, in several Memphis-area locations, including Downtown Memphis, East Memphis, Germantown and the Ridgeway Road area.
