The service of K-9 Robbi ended in June, but his impact on Coweta County continues.
Regions Bank recently joined the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, local students and community leaders to dedicate two new exercise yards on the grounds of the Humane Society. Funded through a donation made in Robbi’s honor following his recognition earlier this year, the yards will provide shelter animals with safe spaces for exercise, enrichment and socialization.

The new exercise areas are designed to support the physical and emotional well-being of dogs awaiting adoption by giving them room to run, play and interact with people in a positive environment.
“Coming together with the community, nonprofits, local leaders and even high schools is what it’s all about,” said Kristina Justice, Regions Bank’s Commercial Banking relationship manager. “It’s about serving the communities where we live and finding ways to make life better.”
Regions Bank, the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society and community leaders gathered recently to dedicate exercise yards in memory of K-9 Robbi.
Honoring a Hero’s Legacy
K-9 Robbi became known throughout the community after helping law enforcement apprehend a suspect following a robbery at Regions Bank’s Newnan Main branch. Earlier this year, Regions recognized Robbi’s courage and dedication and made a donation to the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society in his name.
When Robbi later died unexpectedly, the donation took on an even greater significance.

The dedication ceremony transformed that initial gift into a lasting tribute that will benefit animals in need for years to come.
“We take many of our animals from the county animal shelter,” said Bill Johnson, president of the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society. “We identify animals that need help, bring them here, provide care and socialization and prepare them for adoption. The exercise yards are an important part of that process.”
Two new exercise yards were made possible through funding from a Regions Bank donation to Newnan-Coweta Humane Society earlier this year.
A Community Effort
The project also reflects the sense of unity and connection inspired by Robbi’s story.
Throughout the summer, students from Northgate High School and McIntosh High School volunteered their time to help build the exercise yards. Their contributions helped create a lasting resource that will support countless shelter animals in the years ahead.
The dedication ceremony recognized the students, community partners and organizations whose collaboration made the project possible. Representatives from the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society, Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, Regions Bank, local schools and Boy Scout troops gathered to celebrate the completion of the yards and the impact of a partnership rooted in service, generosity and remembrance.
A Lasting Impact on Animal Welfare
For Regions, the project represents an opportunity to extend Robbi’s legacy and continue making a difference in the very place he served and called home.
“Coming here today and seeing the impact this will have on future dogs, along with seeing the placard and dedication, gave me goosebumps,” Justice said. “Regions Bank is proud to serve this community, and I look forward to hearing stories about dogs that benefit from his legacy.”
The exercise yards will provide shelter animals with regular opportunities for exercise, play and socialization, helping improve their quality of life while increasing their chances of finding permanent homes. For many shelter animals, that enrichment is important as they prepare for adoption.

Regions associates, including those in Corporate Security, Consumer and Commercial Banking, attended the event.
Looking Ahead
While the ceremony honored Robbi’s memory, it also celebrated the future.
The new exercise yards will continue serving shelter animals at the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society for years to come, creating opportunities for enrichment, care and successful adoptions.

What began as a donation recognizing a dedicated law enforcement K-9 has evolved into a lasting investment in animal welfare and a permanent reminder of the positive impact one dog can have on an entire community.
