Robbi was already in motion when things took a turn.
What began as a reported robbery call at Regions Bank’s Newnan, Georgia, Main branch quickly escalated into a foot pursuit. That’s when the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was called in to help capture the suspect.

Working with his new handler, Special Agent Hunter Spradlin, the Belgian Malinois was closing in on the suspect when he was suddenly struck by a passing vehicle.
Robbi didn’t stop.
“It happened so fast,” Spradlin said. “Robbi got right back up to pursue and capture the suspect.”
A veterinary exam later confirmed what officers had hoped: no internal injuries, just scrapes and bruises. After a week off to rest, Robbi returned to duty.
Saying Thank You
On April 15, Regions Bank brought together local law enforcement teams from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office and Newnam Police Department to honor K‑9 Robbi and thank the deputies and officers who helped bring a tense situation to a safe close.

The gathering celebrated Robbi’s return to patrol. It also acknowledged the coordination, focus and trust behind responses like the one in Newnan. Regions welcomed Robbi with a few well‑earned gifts, including a personalized dog bed, a Regions-branded water bowl and treats. Lots and lots of treats.
“Our associates and customers rely on local law enforcement every day,” said Raju Bhatia, head of Corporate Security at Regions. “Taking time to recognize their service — and the way they show up when it matters — is important.”
For Regions associates, the event offered a chance to say thank you directly to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office and the Newnan Police Department.
“This was simply a chance for Regions to show our appreciation,” said Kristina Justice, Regions Consumer Banking Manager for South Georgia, including Newnan. “K9 Robbi got hit, but still answered the call, showing courage, resilience and unwavering commitment.”
Regions also honored Robbi with a $1,000 donation to the Newnan Coweta Humane Society.

Robbi is back on patrol now, doing the work he’s trained to do. But only after Regions helped celebrate him – and honor the first responders who reacted so quickly. Thanks to the combined work of the two local agencies, the situation was under control in a matter of minutes.
“I’m from Newnan,” said Jeremiah Chunn, the Regions Consumer Relationship Banker who faced the would-be robber. “There’s a sense of relief knowing how quickly local law enforcement responded. They reinforce how safe we are every day.”
Ever alert, Robbi took in the dozens of people there for his big day, remaining poised and ready for action. But away from the job, Robbi knows how to balance life.
“He makes life really easy,” Spradlin said. “But when he’s not at work, he plays just like any other dog.”
