How Small-Business Owners can Prepare for Whatever Comes Next

Updating your business plans today can help you avoid a lot of hassles tomorrow.

By Jennifer Elmore | March 16, 2021

If it wasn’t clear before, it certainly is now.

COVID-19 was a difficult reminder that contingency plans are crucial for small businesses. Taking the time to prepare for the unexpected can help a company survive hard times.

Thankfully, teams from Regions can help. Advisors in the bank’s Private Wealth Management division work with business owners all the time to help them plan for any number of common concerns that may arise in the future.

“If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that there are many things beyond our control,” said Chris Cooper, area manager for Regions Private Wealth Management. “Having a goal-based plan isn’t perfect, but it gives business owners something to reflect on when issues impact business operations.”

Cooper strongly recommends business owners have a planning conversation before an unexpected crisis. He and his team deliver customized investment advice and financial guidance for clients in Houston, Austin and communities across South Texas. And Regions offers similar teams that deliver the same services across more than a dozen states.

Cooper recently interviewed with Maria Rosati of Eminence Communications to discuss considerations for business owners. See more insights below.
