Fostering Top-Notch Sights and Sounds at the Regions Tradition

Foster Solutions is a small business that provides big-time audiovisual support to the annual golf tournament.

By Nicole Wyatt | May 8, 2024

Anytime you go to a large event, whether it be a conference, a concert or a sporting match, you’re surrounded by audiovisuals (AV). The same goes for the Regions Tradition.

Golfers at the Regions Tradition will aim for precision and coordination each time they take the green. From their stance, to their grip, and to their swing, everything is carefully adjusted to achieve the perfect shot.

The same can be said for the audiovisual service providers for the Regions Tradition, Foster Solutions. For days in advance of the big event, their technicians are meticulously setting up equipment, adjusting sound levels and managing visual elements to deliver a flawless experience.

“As the tournament has grown to the size it has now, our responsibilities have grown, so currently we manage all of the AV support for the tournament,” said Greg Foster, owner of Foster Solutions, an AV supplier that provides production support to both live and sporting events.

“Our team handles anything that has to do with the media center, the sound systems scattered throughout for announcements, music staging for the band that comes in for the Celebrity Pro-Am day, and the television monitors throughout the event sites and hospitality suites.”

Foster said his history with AV support at the Regions Tradition dates much further back than the inception of his own company, which he launched in 2020.

“It’s unique that we play a very small role in the operations side of the tournament, but obviously the announcements that need to be made and the sponsorship on the TV are important, and a lot of people see that, so it’s always nice and satisfying that the equipment that we provide is used in so many ways in the tournament,” Foster said.

Supporting the Regions Tradition has meant a lot to Foster Solutions in the time that the small business has grown.

“With Birmingham being a small- to medium-sized market for events, we’ve seen the number of sporting events increase over the past decade, and a lot of that success goes back to early sporting events like the Regions Tradition,” Foster said. “My support in helping the golf tournament has opened up other opportunities for me to support other sporting events in our area, like the Magic City Classic, IndyCar, the UFL and other events in our region.”

Foster said the Regions Tradition is the event his team looks forward to each year.

“I think it’s one my love for golf, but also my like for supporting projects. It’s around the team I work directly with at Regions and Eventive Sports as they are very supporting of what we do and it’s a partnership that has grown over the years,” Foster said. “It’s something that both my team and I like being out at Greystone and giving our services for the tournament.”

The 2024 Regions Tradition takes place at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Hoover, Alabama, May 8-12.
