Changing a Life, One Scholarship at a Time

Regions’ support of Miami Dade College connects students with scholarship opportunities to reach their goals.

By Jennifer Elmore | May 21, 2019

Regions Bank is joining forces with the Miami Dade College Foundation to provide scholarship opportunities for students who attend Miami Dade College and need assistance with continuing their education.

Miami Dade College, with more than 165,000 students, is the largest institution of higher education in the country. Eight campuses in Miami-Dade County, Florida, offer more than 300 educational pathways to a career. Sixty-five percent of students are from low-income households, and 43 percent live below the federal poverty line. Scholarship support is critical to help students continue their education.

Regions is providing scholarship opportunities for students who attend Miami Dade College and want to continue their education. The scholarships are part of Regions’ commitment to invest in the communities the bank serves.

“Regions Bank is committed to supporting projects and initiatives that boost educational opportunities for everyone,” said Chris Cruzpino, Regions’ Miami-Dade Market Executive. “Miami Dade College is a force multiplier in our community, helping students from all walks of life prepare for a career. As a proud alumna of the school, I am pleased that Regions is supporting students with these valuable scholarships. Their success will support the long-term growth and development of South Florida.”

We are grateful to Regions for investing in the communities they serve … Their support of scholarships at Miami Dade College has the power to change the lives of our students, their families and our community.
Mark Cole, Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director of the Miami Dade College Foundation

Regions Bank and the Regions Foundation recently announced strategic priorities for community investments. Education is one of the top priorities, and the scholarship contribution directly aligns with the bank’s effort to support initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Mark Cole, Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director of the Miami Dade College Foundation, said support from Regions will help transform the lives of students.
