Congratulations to Shonda Duffey, an honoree in Secured Lender Magazine’s 2025 Women in Secured Finance Awards.
Who:
Shonda Duffey
Head of Regions Business Capital Customer Service and Loan Operations
What:
Secured Finance Network recognizes women demonstrating professional excellence, leadership and mentorship within the secured finance industry each year. In its magazine, a resource for the asset-based financial services industry, SFNet recently published a list of its Women in Secured Finance Awards that included Duffey, who was nominated by Barry Bobrow, Managing Director and head of Credit Markets for Regions Business Capital, and Courtney Jeans, Executive Managing Director and head of Regions Business Capital.
Why:
As head of Regions Business Capital Customer Service and Loan Operations, Duffey oversees the details that support collateral and monetary transactions for asset-based lending. Her exceptional service and problem solving during a high-profile transaction led to her nomination. Duffey credits proactive communication, a meticulous approach, as well as a supportive team.
“Shonda is a valuable member of our leadership team who brings strong energy, engagement and expertise to her role,” said Jeans. “She is a dynamic leader who is personally invested in her teams, our group and Regions more broadly. She consistently goes above and beyond, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding contribution. We are extremely proud of her success!”
What gives me great joy is pouring into others and watching them develop. Cultivating the next generation of talent is critical.
Shonda Duffey
Head of Regions Business Capital Customer Service and Loan Operations
Despite her short tenure, she has made an outsized impact. She joined Regions in July 2023 after 27 years at JPMorgan Chase as an executive. Her passion lies in nurturing the potential of her team. “What gives me great joy is pouring into others and watching them develop,” she said. “Cultivating the next generation of talent is critical.”
Her advice for those looking to build a career at Regions is to stay curious, build your network, and never stop learning. “You must master your craft, no matter your role. Your profession is your career, you sit in the driver seat and should own it. It’s not a 9 to 5. You should always be studying and mastering your craft. Networking is important as well, connecting with the right sponsors or champions. But sometimes, you must be the one to advocate for yourself.”

In Her Own Words:
“It’s an honor to be recognized. The hard work is really being showcased, and that’s important, not just for me, but for any associate that works behind the scenes,” Duffey said. “Allowing a light to shine in a way that showcases the hard work and allows you to pour into others, giving of yourself to uplift and support, is rewarding.”

Spotlight on Impact Networks
Duffey is also co-chair of the Atlanta Impact Network. Having relocated from Dallas to Atlanta for her role at Regions, she says the network has helped her to build connections throughout the company in the year she has been involved with the group.
One of the highlights for her so far was the network’s Black History Month event this February, which drew hundreds of attendees from across the firm to hear from executives about their career journeys.
Staying involved and engaged follows naturally from Duffey’s approach to life and the advice she gives to others. “Challenge yourself to learn new things, be uncomfortable with complacency for continued growth, and diversify your career portfolio. Coming from one state to the other, my involvement with the network has helped me meet people I otherwise wouldn’t have,” she said.
“Community engagement is important for me and a part of who I am. I have always volunteered, but now that I’m at Regions, the network has helped me get involved and give back to the community.”
