Women, Wealth and the Tradition: A Hole in One

Highlighted by Nashville Predators’ Chief Revenue Officer Dionna Widder, Regions Tradition Executive Women’s Lunch a celebration of bank’s Women + Wealth program.

By Ashley Foster, APR | May 11, 2024

There’s always time for empowerment, education and the professional advice of a proven female executive, even on the golf course.

Among Greystone’s pristine fairways and competitive Regions Tradition tournament play on Friday, Birmingham-area female leaders and executives joined together onsite for a lunch event empowering women-led financial leadership.

The Regions Tradition Executive Women’s Lunch – hosted by Regions Private Wealth Management as part of its innovative Women + Wealth program – was highlighted by Dionna Widder, Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Leadership Team member for the Nashville Predators.

Dionna, whose experience in the professional sports world spans NBA, NFL, MLS and now NHL team leadership, provided attendees insights into her best practices playbook by explaining what she believes sets great companies apart from good and how each person can contribute to a company’s success.

“Every organization knows what they do and how they do it, but little know why. A great organization is one that is purpose driven and understands why it exists, executes on that why and sees its people as its greatest asset.

“If you focus on your why and put it out there with your team, results will come.”

And for a woman who has represented teams with world-renowned stars at their helm, Dionna understands the commonality between athletes and a company’s own employees.

“Just as great athletes make great teams and great teams make great competitors, great team members make a great organization that in turn drives desired results,” Widder said.

She added that the onus of overall success doesn’t rest solely on leadership itself and credits employees motivated by making a difference, growing, working hard and having a positive attitude as core components of a complete “one team” mentality.

For event attendees – and for other women in Regions’ footprint who either own their own businesses or are working toward financial growth – the bank’s Women + Wealth program combines unique events and timely insights with one-on-one guidance from a team of professionals to meet women not only where they are, but also where they aspire to be in terms of financial leadership.
