Regions Tradition 2024: Adding More to the Drive

The Regions Tradition is coming May 8-12.

By Mel Campbell | April 30, 2024

When a golfer sets up to hit a drive, it’s just the player and the ball. Focused. In the moment.

Except that it’s really not. It’s also about the experience, the technology in the clubs and equipment, the course, and so much more.

In many ways, the Regions Tradition™, which is scheduled for May 8-12 at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Hoover, Alabama, is similar to that player teeing off.

Each year some of the greatest golfers in the game come together for one of the major championships on the PGA TOUR Champions.

It brings out the best.

But when it comes to the tournament, it’s hardly just about a player striking a ball and who scores the lowest. For Regions, it’s also about:

  • Supporting local nonprofits and the tournament’s primary beneficiary – Children’s of Alabama. Since the tournament started more than 30 years ago, it’s raised $22.7 million for Children’s and other charities.
  • Inviting young people from the area to experience the game of golf and to learn about how they can build financial confidence.
  • Providing a much-needed economic boost to the area, and to local small business, in particular. Yearly, the Regions Tradition has an economic impact of more than $25 million.
  • Offering a one-of-a-kind community event that is family-friendly, fun and offers something for everyone – from great food, to music, to sun and fun … and of course, great professional golf.
