Regions Bank hosted COVID-19 vaccine clinics on April 28 and 29 in Greater Birmingham for associates and their eligible dependents, as well as various contract employees who work in Regions’ facilities. Now that vaccines are readily available, this was another way for Regions to make it easier for contractors, associates and their families to get vaccinated.

In total, more than 200 people received their first vaccine at the Regions Center and Riverchase campus vaccine clinics. Another round of clinics will be held in mid-May to provide the second dose of the vaccine. Regions associates also lent a hand to help the clinics run smoothly, assisting with the check-in process, second dose scheduling, and traffic flow.

Steve Nivet, Consumer Banking Regional Executive, was among those vaccinated at the Regions Center clinic.

“I so appreciate Regions making this opportunity available to our teams,” said Nivet. “This made the process easy and convenient as I was able to get the shot at the office.

“It’s another example of how Regions is going above and beyond to support our associates through this pandemic.”

In addition to making a difference for associates, the vaccine clinics provided an opportunity for Regions to support the local business community. Through a referral from the Jefferson County, Alabama health department, Regions connected with MedsPLUS Consulting, a local minority- and women-owned small business, to administer the vaccine clinics. Pharmacists, founders and co-owners Pauline Long and Jennifer Campbell have been ramping up quickly to provide COVID-19 vaccine services as a health department community partner, spending weekdays administering vaccine clinics at businesses and many weekends running vaccine clinics at churches and community centers, with a focus on underserved neighborhoods and people in Birmingham.

“Jennifer and I spent a combined 35 years in community pharmacy and during that time saw first-hand how important access to healthcare, medications and advice is vital, especially for the most vulnerable communities,” said King. “We founded our company three years ago with a vision to bridge the gap in healthcare to be accessible to all. We are excited to work with companies like Regions to provide a needed service while growing our business. The opportunity to manage vaccine clinics like this one supports our work in underserved areas as well and we are looking forward to another successful Regions clinic in May.”

Regions continues to encourage those who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine to receive it. To make it as easy as possible, Regions is offering a number of benefits, including paid time off for associates to receive the COVID-19 vaccine during work hours.
