The Gratitude Initiative

Our mission is to provide educational support and college scholarships to the children of military service members, veterans, disabled veterans and those killed in defense of our country.

In 2013, the Gratitude Initiative (GI) began assembling some of the nation’s leading experts in college preparation and distance learning, along with the top education companies, to develop one of the most comprehensive college preparation programs available: the GI College Success Academy (CSA). The creators of this program have a combined 200-plus years of experience in this industry. We began enrolling students in 2015, and now we are serving students and families around the globe and in 26 states.

We are the only program providing military and veteran families with a service quite like this. Our comprehensive program is delivered online to support families wherever they live around the globe, but is also supported by advisors who work directly with each student and family. Our advisors are degreed professionals with extensive experience.

We are very excited that the U.S. Army has agreed to partner with us to promote our College Success Academy to Army families around the globe. The U.S. Army’s Installation Management Command, which is responsible for the operation of all Army installations and family/child programs around the world, began connecting GI with Army families worldwide in Fall 2019.

The Mission

GI honors military and veteran families by focusing on the educational needs of their children. Our mission is to provide educational support and college scholarships, free of charge, to the children of military service members, veterans, disabled veterans and those killed in defense of our country.

The GI College Success Academy helps military and veteran families by creating a lasting impact helping the student prepare for, attend and graduate from college. The program helps people find stability, removes the stress of college and career planning, and creates a legacy of education that impacts future generations.

What Would You Do with $5,000 and a Day of Service?

We’d be honored to give 10 scholarships to our 2020 graduates of the GI College Success Academy. With a Day of Service, we’d like career interviews for our Resource Center to promote financial careers. We’d also love volunteers to join the GI Team for the Carry the Load Memorial March.
