We have grown into a statewide network dedicated to the health and well-being of children and families.

For over 100 years, Canopy Children’s Solutions has provided innovative behavioral health, educational, and social service solutions to Mississippi’s most vulnerable youth. The organization, founded as Mississippi Children’s Home Society in 1912, was first established with the primary purpose of placing children into permanent, loving homes. Today, we have grown into a network of statewide programs dedicated to the health and well-being of Mississippi’s children and families, including those impacted by autism.

Canopy remains committed to providing children and families impacted by health challenges with maximum opportunities to overcome these struggles and reach their full potential. We believe that every child, no matter their background or circumstance, should have access to quality education, opportunities to heal, the ability to learn critical life skills, and the chance to find their purpose in life. Our goal is to improve long-term outcomes in our current programs and expand access to care for more Mississippians who are languishing without hope of critically needed solutions.

The Mission

Canopy’s mission is to help children thrive and families overcome extraordinary challenges by providing a continuum of behavioral health, educational, and social service solutions.

Canopy’s purpose is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children and families in need of hope. As the state’s most comprehensive provider of children’s behavioral health, educational and social service solutions, Canopy supplies children with the resources to overcome extraordinary circumstances. A continuum of evidence-based therapeutic programs supports children and families by providing individualized solutions for each unique problem to assure every child can be a success story.

What Would You Do with $5,000 and a Day of Service?

Increased self-esteem and improved concentration are some positive effects nature has on children. Regions’ day of service would focus on environmental education through a landscaping project at Canopy’s Bagley and Powers school campuses in Jackson. This project will create a lasting impact in the hearts of Mississippi’s children.
