Marcus Lundy, who leads Regions’ Supplier Diversity efforts, has been recognized by DiversityPlus Magazine as a 2021 Top 25 Diversity Change Leader.
Honorees were selected based on their significant contributions to advancing supplier diversity and talent diversity in some of the largest organizations in the United States and globally. According to the announcement, “These are professionals who use their expertise to drive change in order to improve the lives of people, businesses, and communities.”
As the leader of Regions’ Supplier Diversity Program, Marcus has helped to build a stronger culture of looking for and valuing diversity in our vendor management and selection process. In addition to helping diverse business find opportunities at Regions, he’s built a network of service providers and offers opportunities for more businesses to thrive as they do business and support Regions.
“This award is truly an honor,” Marcus said. “But it really represents the commitment of Regions, our leadership and our managers to being open, to valuing competition for our business and to investing in our communities.”
Marcus’ profile and those of other recipients can be found on the DiversityPlus website.
“Supplier diversity is really more than the right thing to do; it’s the smart business thing to do,” said Brett Couch, head of Procurement and Corporate Real Estate. “Marcus has elevated not just the importance of supplier diversity in the company, but he’s done it by showing the benefits of this commitment to Regions in vendors competing for our business, accelerating delivery of service and innovation, as well as the benefits to the larger community.”
In addition to helping champion our supplier diversity efforts, Marcus is also the incoming chair of VITAL, a Birmingham-area organization of large companies working to encourage and grow supplier diversity in the area.
