After he survived a mine explosion as a U.S. Marine in Iraq, Jack Hirsch returned home with a Purple Heart and a renewed focus to make life better for his colleagues, customers and community members.
Hirsch spent more than a decade working for Regions in the South Alabama area. While there, he helped develop a strong partnership between Regions and Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama, a nonprofit organization that provides one-to-one mentoring services for children. Regions is donating $1,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters on his behalf.
When he transferred to Institutional Services in Birmingham in 2013, Hirsch began volunteering as an Upward Basketball coach at Green Valley Baptist Church. He guides his players through athletic growth, while fostering positive sportsmanship and character to help them succeed in all areas of life. Hirsch is also a volunteer for the Jimmie Hale Mission in Birmingham and Junior Achievement of Alabama.
