Regions Bank Names Tara Odell as East Texas Market Executive

Odell to lead Regions’ community involvement in addition to Commercial Banking in Tyler and across East Texas.

By Kim Borges | February 6, 2020

TYLER, Texas – Feb. 6, 2020 – Regions Bank on Thursday announced that Tara Odell, Commercial Relationship Manager for the bank in East Texas, has been promoted to serve as Market Executive for Tyler and surrounding communities.

As Market Executive, Odell will leverage her local experience and insights to expand Regions’ client base while also taking a strategic, proactive role in addressing various needs across the area. She will work with colleagues and community members in support of Regions’ community engagement initiatives throughout East Texas, including volunteer service, nonprofit assistance, delivering financial education and more. Odell will also continue in her role as Commercial Relationship Manager, delivering customized financial solutions for local businesses and employers.

“Tara’s experience and the relationships she has established in East Texas make her a natural fit for the role of Tyler Market Executive,” said Mark Evans, Commercial Banking Leader for Regions. “Her expertise, combined with the strength of our entire East Texas team, will help Regions further strengthen its focus on this vibrant area. We congratulate her on this well-earned promotion.”

Odell will focus local teams on implementing Regions360, the bank’s comprehensive approach to meeting customers’ needs. Through Regions360, the company’s bankers learn the unique goals of clients and collaborate with colleagues from Regions’ various departments – including Commercial Banking, Consumer Banking and Private Wealth Management – to develop holistic solutions.

I am honored to lead the collaboration of our teams and am committed to building on Regions’ strong foundation of community engagement.

“Regions continues to make significant investments in its capabilities, resources and talent to best serve our customers,” said Odell. “The bank’s commitment to combining industry expertise with personalized service is what differentiates us in Tyler. I am honored to lead the collaboration of our teams and am committed to building on Regions’ strong foundation of community engagement.”

A financial services industry veteran of 16 years, Odell first joined Regions in 2008, initially serving as a loan assistant. Following a role with First Bank and Trust East Texas, Odell returned to Regions in 2013 and served as a credit underwriter until 2014, when she moved to her current Commercial Relationship Manager role.

Odell began her banking career as a teller with First Convenience Bank in Tyler. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Tyler. She also attended Tyler Junior College.

Odell participated in Regions’ Management Training Program in Birmingham, Alabama. She is also a graduate of the Owen Graduate School of Management Client Advisor Program at Vanderbilt University.

Odell is actively engaged in the community, currently serving on the boards of directors for East Texas Lighthouse for the Blind and the Whitehouse Independent School District Education Foundation. Odell is also a Leadership Tyler Class 27 graduate.

Odell succeeds Chad Cargile as East Texas Market Executive. Cargile recently transitioned to a Commercial Banking leadership role with Regions in Houston.
