SARASOTA, Fla. – Nov. 3, 2021 – Regions Bank on Wednesday announced Dorothy Blasingim, consumer banking manager for the company, has been elevated to serve as market executive for the bank in Sarasota, Bradenton and surrounding Suncoast communities.
For the past 18 years at Regions, Blasingim has led branch-banking operations across Southwest Florida. Her insights and guidance have shaped the services provided by Regions’ teams at 15 locations in Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties. Now, as market executive for the Suncoast, Blasingim will lead the bank’s Regions360 approach toward providing holistic, customized financial services across all divisions of the company. Through Regions360, Regions’ Consumer Banking teams, Commercial Banking teams, and Wealth Management professionals collaborate with each other to take a comprehensive view of customers’ financial needs and develop solutions to meet those needs. In addition to leading local Regions360 strategies, Blasingim will work with Regions’ Community Affairs division to implement community engagement activities throughout the area.
“Much of Regions’ success in Southwest Florida can be attributed to Dorothy Blasingim and her passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience, and we are proud to expand her territory and leadership role to serve as market executive along the Suncoast,” said John Turner, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp. “The Suncoast is a thriving, vibrant region with more people and businesses discovering what makes it a tremendous place to live and work. Dorothy is the right leader to help Regions build on our investments in Florida by reaching new customers as they come into the community – and building deeper relationships with the people and businesses we already serve.”
In recent weeks, Blasingim began her service as market executive by holding listening events where she met with Regions colleagues across the Suncoast to gain their perspectives on topics ranging from business opportunities to volunteer efforts. Blasingim said her service to the Suncoast will be inspired not only by her experience down in Southwest Florida, but also by opportunities to meet unique needs here in Sarasota, Bradenton and surrounding areas.
“A lot of people think of a bank as a place to open an account or get a loan, and while, yes, we provide those services, at Regions Bank, our commitment to the Suncoast goes much deeper,” Blasingim explained. “We don’t view customers through a transactional lens; rather, we take a relationship-based approach. Our teams along the Suncoast are providing customized services every day, and Regions is investing in the area, with examples like our new Lakewood Ranch location. I am excited to lead our local collaboration as Regions builds on its legacy of service to Florida’s west coast.”
And that service, Blasingim reiterated, will continue to place a strong focus on community involvement.
“What I’ve learned during our listening events just reinforces to me how proud I am to be a part of the Regions team because of the things we do and how we participate in the community,” she said. “In my new role, I want to ensure our local community engagement has the full force of Regions’ support behind it. Our plan is to continually find ways to get more associates engaged in our community. There are so many things that we do already; I’m looking forward to seeing that grow.”
