Regions Bank Named Military Spouse Friendly® Employer

Recognition highlights the bank’s steadfast commitment to recruiting, retaining and advancing career opportunities for military spouses.

By Jeremy King | January 17, 2024

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jan. 17, 2024 – Regions Bank on Wednesday announced it has been designated as a 2024 Military Spouse Friendly® Employer by Military Friendly®, an organization that measures the commitment of companies to create professional opportunities that leverage military experience.

Regions Bank deeply values the experiences and insights that military spouses, service members and veterans bring to our country, our communities and our company.Clara Green, head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Regions

Regions Bank has also earned the designation of Military Friendly® Employer for four consecutive years.

“Regions Bank deeply values the experiences and insights that military spouses, service members and veterans bring to our country, our communities and our company,” said Clara Green, head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Regions. “Our company is made stronger by the integrity, skills and talents of associates who come from military backgrounds and military families. These colleagues represent various departments across the bank; what they all have in common is an unwavering commitment to excellence and a passion for quality service. It is our honor to provide career opportunities – and a workplace culture that truly values their experiences.”

Regions Bank takes an intentional approach toward supporting military-friendly career opportunities. Examples include:

  • Regions established a career transition program called BRAVE – Building Regions Associate Veteran Experience – specifically for the purpose of supporting veterans and military spouses during their transitions to the civilian workforce.
  • The bank is a member of the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), a Department of Defense career program connecting military spouses with hundreds of member employers who commit to recruit, hire, promote and retain military spouses.
  • Regions works with the national program Hiring Our Heroes, which helps connect transitioning service members and their families with career opportunities.

The Military Friendly® Spouse Employers survey takes a detailed look at the lifecycle of military spouse employees: What employers do to attract, hire, and develop them; as well as the policies and practices with which employers support them along the way.

“We celebrate and honor employers who proudly bear the badge of Military Spouse Friendly® Employer. These forward-thinking organizations not only recognize the sacrifices military spouses make but also embrace the invaluable contributions they bring to the workforce. Being designated as Military Spouse Friendly® is not just an award, it’s a commitment to fostering a workplace culture that appreciates resilience, adaptability, and unwavering dedication,” said Kayla Lopez, Director of Military Partnerships, Military Friendly®.

This year’s Military Spouse Friendly® Employers list can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com/MSFE2024 and will be published in the 2024 Winter issue of Military Spouse® Magazine.
