Regions Bank, EVERFI Expand Financial Education Offerings to K-12 Students

Virtual resources for at-home learning available for free.

By Nicole Wyatt | April 9, 2020

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – April 9, 2020 – Regions Bank is pleased to announce it is working with social impact education innovator EVERFI to provide more than 20 no-cost digital courses to K-12 students across the Regions footprint. This builds upon the Regions-EVERFI relationship that impacted more than 17,000 high school learners, 8,000 college students and 40,000 adults through digital financial wellness during the 2018-19 school year.

Regions has a longstanding commitment to providing financial advice, guidance and education to customers, associates and people in the communities it serves. For several years, Regions and its financial education and wellness program, Next Step, have sponsored EVERFI: Financial Literacy for High School coursework in 160 schools. For a limited time, during this period of social distancing and school building closures, students of all ages can access grade-appropriate resources at home, including a two-week remote learning plan to help guide parents.

“COVID-19 has quickly made a huge impact on our daily lives, and we recognize the complexity of what everyone is managing now, including students,” said Joye Hehn, Community Financial Education Manager for Regions. “As parents and caregivers are balancing work, childcare and taking on remote learning, Regions and EVERFI are proud to provide quality at-home educational content on life’s most critical financial topics.”

The EVERFI coursework includes instruction on:

  • Responsible money choices
  • Income and careers
  • Planning and money management
  • Credit and borrowing
  • Insurance and safety management
  • Savings and investing

“Our hope in offering this expanded virtual coursework is that we can support one another as we navigate this new landscape and strive toward achieving our mission of making life better,” Hehn added.

Getting access to this content is easy; simply visit the EVERFI Family Portal, select your state and child’s school name, and you’ll receive the full catalog of age-appropriate courses for your child.
