JACKSON, Tenn. – Dec. 12, 2024 – Regions Bank on Thursday announced West Tennessee financial services veteran Ronald Whisenant has been elevated to serve as the company’s market executive for Jackson and surrounding communities. Whisenant will also continue in his role as Consumer Banking manager for Regions in Jackson, a position he’s held for 18 years.

A 30-year banker and a dedicated community leader, Whisenant brings a deep understanding of the unique economic opportunities in Jackson and West Tennessee.

“Ron Whisenant knows the Jackson community inside and out because he’s been personally invested in its growth and success for nearly 20 years,” said John Turner, Chairman, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp. “He is a prime example of how a banking veteran with deep roots and solid relationships can help Regions serve more people, families and businesses. Ron naturally connects with everyone he meets and thoughtfully listens to customers, allowing him to deliver smart banking solutions. We see tremendous growth potential in West Tennessee, and we know we have the right leader in Ron Whisenant to represent us as our Jackson market executive.”

“With the area experiencing transformative growth, including in the automotive sector and with new residents being attracted to Tennessee’s quality of life, Regions Bank is here to support the economic vitality of this vibrant community,” said Whisenant. “We know how to make a difference because this is our home, too. Jackson is at a turning point with numerous major developments ahead, and as the leading bank in West Tennessee, Regions is committed to advancing this area’s economic strength by providing the top-tier service that’s helped us earn our reputation.”

Whisenant began his career in 1995 as a branch manager for a local bank in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. From there, he progressed through positions in business banking and as a commercial loan officer before coming to Regions in Jackson in 2007. Since then, he has managed a customer base of more than 60,000 clients and a 15-branch banking network. He is a two-time Chairman’s Club Award winner for Regions, the bank’s top honor for performance.

It’s a tremendous responsibility to ensure we’re not only helping our customers achieve their financial goals but also helping more people in our community thrive. Ron Whisenant, Jackson Market Executive

As market executive, Whisenant now leads the bank’s comprehensive Regions360 approach to identifying and meeting customers’ unique banking needs. Whisenant will team with Regions colleagues in Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking, Mortgage Banking, Wealth Management, and other functions to deliver holistic financial solutions for Jackson-area clients.

He joins a broader team of Regions leaders serving all of West Tennessee, including Rudy Walker, Consumer Banking executive for the area.

“Ron loves people, and that’s evident in his long tenure in the Jackson market and in West Tennessee overall,” Walker said. “His individualized approach to working with our customers involves meeting them where they are and helping them achieve goals at their own pace. Ron really takes joy in seeing someone reach their full financial potential; it’s what makes him a special leader and a great banker. He is a servant-leader both inside the company and externally in the community – and the perfect choice for Jackson market executive.”

Whisenant will also oversee Regions’ strategy for community engagement in Jackson and surrounding communities. He emphasized the importance of Regions’ role in fostering inclusive growth across all parts of the community.
