I AM. WE ARE. – Celebrating Regions Associates
Our collective history is part of who we are, and Regions is a stronger company today because of our associates.
Meet Steven
Steven, a Commercial Relationship Manager, shares his I AM story.
When I think of Who I AM…
I AM a father to a strong 15-year-old girl.
I AM a thrill seeker. From zip lining and skydiving to travels off the beaten path and trying foods from around the world, I relish new experiences.
I AM one with the ocean. Growing up on the coast, surfing, swimming and fishing – both deep sea and on shore – are a constant in my life.
I AM a child of God.
I AM a proud member of Lumbee Nation, the largest tribe in North Carolina and the ninth largest in the U.S. The Lumbee take their name from the Lumbee River which winds its way through Robeson County. My family history dates back to the 1750’s where William Woodell was a member of a tribal, agricultural community near Pembroke, the economic, cultural and political center of the tribe.
During Indigenous Peoples Heritage month, I am hopeful for the future of Lumbee Nation. I reflect on past tribal leaders and members who have shaped our tribe and sacrificed for the betterment of our people. We are 50,000 strong, working for our due recognition.
Because of who I AM, WE ARE more observant, aware, and knowledgeable.
