ORLANDO, Fla. – Regions Bank on Monday announced Chris Hurst, Commercial Banking Leader for Regions, has been appointed to serve as Market Executive for the bank in Orlando and surrounding communities.

Hurst is part of a leadership team of bankers leveraging their local experience and Market insights to expand Regions’ client base throughout Orlando and Central Florida.

As Market Executive, Hurst will work with colleagues and community members to identify opportunities for the bank and its associates to make a meaningful difference in response to local needs. Through volunteer service, nonprofit support, delivering financial education, and more, Hurst and Regions’ entire leadership team will consistently reflect the company’s commitment to meeting clients’ needs and supporting the surrounding areas.

“Regions Bank is focused on working closely with local customers and listening to the needs of our communities as we deliver financial services and community support that are designed to make a valuable difference in Orlando and beyond,” said John Turner, Regions President and CEO. “Chris’s expertise, combined with the experience of our entire Orlando leadership team, will help Regions further strengthen its focus on this vibrant area. We are committed to the success of our communities and to consistently developing new ways to serve.”

Hurst, a 25-year veteran of the Orlando business community, joined Regions in 2000. During his 18 years with the company, he has served commercial banking clients throughout Orlando, Daytona Beach, Melbourne, Gainesville, Ocala, Tallahassee and Jacksonville. He and his teams deliver a variety of specialized financial services that are custom-designed to meet the needs and opportunities affecting large and small businesses throughout the area. Hurst holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Finance from the University of Central Florida.

Hurst succeeds Tony Stiffler, who was recently promoted to serve as Florida Commercial Banking Executive for Regions. Stiffler will remain based in Orlando and will oversee Regions’ commercial banking services for major companies throughout the state.

Regions’ leadership team in Orlando also includes Martin Baker, Consumer Banking Manager responsible for the company’s branch-banking operations at 15 Regions locations across Orange, Osceola and Lake Counties. Baker has served Regions and its customers in Central Florida for nearly 20 years, having joined the company in October 1998. Over time, he has managed all aspects of how customers are served at the company’s local offices. Before joining Regions, Baker held management roles at Nations Bank, now Bank of America. He is a passionate volunteer for TEARS (Together Every Animal Receives Support) of Seminole County, which he has served since its inception.

Further, the Orlando leadership team includes Alex Gonzalez of Regions Private Wealth Management, which serves investment clients through tailored financial advice and market insights. As Private Wealth Area Manager for Regions in Orlando, Gonzalez and his team reach high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients with customized solutions designed to accomplish a variety of investment objectives. Gonzalez joined Regions in 2010. Previously, he served as Private Banking Director for Wachovia, now Wells Fargo, where he served clients in Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville and other Florida cities for nearly 28 years.

Together, each of these leaders will focus their teams on reaching the objectives of Regions360, the bank’s comprehensive approach to meeting customers’ needs. Through Regions360, the company’s bankers learn the unique goals of each customer and collaborate with colleagues from across Regions’ departments to develop holistic solutions that are customized to meet individual needs.

“Regions is uniquely positioned to offer the comprehensive services of a larger bank while also providing local bankers who are constantly in touch with the needs of individual customers and communities,” Hurst said. “Based on the expertise of our teams, and the resources of our company as a whole, we are able to deliver services that are tailored to meet the needs of the clients we serve. I am honored to lead the collaboration of our teams across Central Florida and am committed to building on Regions’ strong foundation of community engagement.”
