Regions Bank Announces Chris Cruzpino as Miami-Dade Market Executive

Regions’ Miami-Dade leadership team follows a collaborative approach toward meeting customer and community needs.

MIAMI, Fla. – July 25, 2018 – Regions Bank on Wednesday announced Chris Cruzpino, Miami-based Private Wealth Management Area Executive for Regions, will now also serve as Market Executive for the bank in Miami-Dade.

Cruzpino is part of a leadership team of financial professionals leveraging their local experience and market insights to expand Regions’ client base throughout South Florida. As Market Executive, she will work with colleagues and community members to identify opportunities for the bank and its associates to make a meaningful difference in response to local needs. Through volunteer service, nonprofit support, delivering financial education, and more, Cruzpino and Regions’ entire leadership team will consistently reflect the company’s commitment to meeting clients’ needs while supporting the vitality of the broader Miami-Dade community.

Cruzpino will also continue serving as Private Wealth Management Area Executive, leading Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach teams as they deliver tailored investment advice and market insights to Regions clients.

“Regions is focused on working closely with local customers and listening to the needs of our communities as we deliver financial services and community support that are designed to make a valuable difference in Miami-Dade and beyond,” said John Turner, Regions President and CEO. “Chris’ expertise, combined with the experience of our entire Miami-Dade leadership team, will help Regions further strengthen its focus on this vibrant area. We are committed to the success of our communities and to consistently developing new ways to serve.”

Cruzpino succeeds Steve Nivet, who was recently promoted to the position of Consumer Banking Regional Executive leading Regions’ branch-banking operations in five southeastern states as well as Texas and Southwest Missouri. Nivet remains in Miami and will soon relocate to Regions’ headquarters in Birmingham as he leads consumer banking teams from Miami to Houston and beyond.

Cruzpino brings 34 years of financial services experience in Miami-Dade to the Market Executive’s role. She began her career with Barnett Bank in 1984 and has experience delivering complex and strategic services to individual investment clients, business clients and international clients. Cruzpino joined Regions in 2008 and has led the bank’s Private Wealth Management division in South Florida for the last 10 years.

Regions’ Miami-Dade leadership team also includes Tammi Calvo-Sanchez, who continues to serve as the bank’s Miami-Dade Commercial Banking Leader. Calvo-Sanchez and her team deliver a wide range of complex financial services to large companies and major employers throughout the area. She joined Regions in 1998 after successful commercial banking roles with SunTrust Bank and Barnett Bank. She began her banking career in 1987.

Further, the bank’s local leadership team includes Channing Thornton, who serves as Consumer Banking Executive directly overseeing the company’s branch-banking operations at Regions locations along the eastern coast of Florida from Jacksonville to Homestead. Thornton joined Regions, formerly AmSouth Bank, in 1999 and has held roles of increasing responsibility in shaping the personal services the company delivers throughout its branch network. He began his banking career with Barnett Bank in 1990.

Together, each of these leaders, across all departments, will focus their teams on reaching the objectives of Regions360, the bank’s comprehensive approach to meeting customers’ needs. Through Regions360, the company’s bankers learn the unique goals of each customer and collaborate with colleagues from Regions’ various banking departments to develop holistic solutions that are customized to meet individual needs.

“Regions is uniquely positioned to offer the comprehensive services of a larger bank while also providing local financial professionals who are constantly in touch with the needs of individual customers and communities,” Cruzpino said. “Based on the expertise of our team, and the resources of our company as a whole, we are able to deliver services that are tailored to meet the needs of the clients we serve. I am honored to lead the collaboration of our teams across Miami-Dade and am committed to building on Regions’ strong foundation of community engagement.”
